Wow, this place has everything. Lots of beautiful cheeses, sausages, mock meats, spreads, frozen foods, pasties etc. All of them handpicked and lovingly curated. Many of them you won't get anywhere else (except maybe for mail order).

The owners of the Kichererbse are vegan pioneers in stuttgart and they definitely have managed to become the 'heart store' of the vegan community in stuttgart. Not only they're super friendly and highly informed about all topics concerning veganism, animal rights and events relating to it, they also have a wide and up-to-date range of vegan products in their store. You also can eat meals there and have a nice talk or just enjoy being there :)

Very well sorted, just the right kinda size vegan (not only) grocery-store in Stuttgart. The owners are super friendly, well informed not only about the products they sell but also about animal rights related topics.
Read moreLove to come here, the atmosphere is always relaxed and warm, like you just walked into a cozy living room. Opportunities to sit down and have a chat or enjoy the tasty delights you can get for a donation to one of the projects they support.
Also the prices are very fair if you compare them to your usual organic supermarket.

The Kichererbse (German for "chickpea") is a quiet, non-pretentious vegan supermarket with an amazing range of products.

During the day you can get homemade vegan treats as well as varying snacks and lunch. Sometimes only for a charitable donation for a good cause.
The supermarket is located in Stuttgart's southern district, not far away from the fancy Marienplatz.

In addition, if you ever wanted to have something that is not in stock, the owners will go every extra mile to get it for you.
Speaking of the owners: the two wonderful people running the store are simply amazing human beings with so much dedication and motivation.
They really make you feel welcome and have turned this place from convenience store to living room atmosphere.
They have a strong focus on fair and local products as they have a very cohesive approach to animal and human rights. They also run fundraising campaigns for various animal and human rights organizations all the time.
This place is everything you want it to be and much more. I have been to many vegan stores around the world but Die Kichererbse is without any doubt THE vegan store.
And finally: support your local vegan grocery store!

Visiting the little cosy store is always one of my first action, when I'm in Stuttgart. Although its small you can find a bunch of yummy and special vegan foods, clothing, bags. To complete that the owners are always setting value if their goods are organic, or fair trade, or regional (as possible). They also have some unique goods, e.g. olive oil, chutneys and crafted wooden finery.

Very small, but vegan-heaven inside: big variety of goods like "cheese", ice, sweets, "milk", soy products, cosmetics and so on. Very friendly service who knows their stuff.

The store is one room with a small hallway attached to it. Nevertheless Die Kichererbse offers a host of interesting products you cannot find in other stores. For example vegan cheese, wheat gluten (seitan) powder, shrimps, beef, and fish steaks. Additional they have several lemonades, sweets, legumes.

The Chickpea - Small, but perfectly formed! - Edit
Popped into this all vegan store yesterday; plenty of products on sale, despite being a small shop, and helpful staff. We sat outside for a drink, as they've a table and chairs for customers. Why not visit 'The Chickpea' before, or after, eating some at nearby Vegi Voodoo King falfel restaurant?! They give 5% discount for German vegetarian society card holders.
