Vegan options and service vary

I´ve eaten out here several times over the years, with a friend and in groups. In 2016 we went here with a bigger veggie group and were overwhelmed by their six vegan options, all written on a separate board. We were all happy with our food.
So this year we went there again, this time with a smaller veggie group. Much to everyone´s dismay the vegan weekly special was already sold out. My tarte flambée wasn´t exactly prepared with a lot of love, being burnt at several sides, not having a lot of tomato sauce, and with the vegetables being randomly distributed, i.e. some bigger parts were empty whereas some parts were crowded with veggies and rather mushy potato chunks. The waitress wasn´t too happy about our questions, couldn´t really answer all of them, nor did she follow common etiquette like waiting for everyone to have finished their meals before starting to clear the table, or apologising for not having the weekly vegan special anymore.
The vegetarian dishes are labelled but can easily be confused with the gluten-free symbol because both are in small print using the same colour.
On a positive note, we were served rather fast, my tarte flambée tasted OK, I could get free tap water (not so common in German restaurants,) and we spent a relaxing summer evening sitting outside, overlooking the main shopping street.

Pros: Right in the city centre, Several vegetarian and a few vegan options, Prices are OK

Cons: Vegan options not labelled, Service varies

Reliable

I have been twice now. I like that it seems a lot of good Saarland choices. The mixed menu is useful when i am with non vegan friends. They always seem to have a vegan special on the menu of the day. Some dishes can be adapted. Like many good restaurants in Saarland they are professional and attentive. I want to give more stars... i would if i saw more variety of permanent vegan choices.

Pros: local food that can be prepared vegetarian or vega

Cons: not a big variety of vegan options.
