Dick's Kitchen
Serves meat, vegan options available. The menu has vegetarian dishes, vegan sides - including the tempeh reuben with vegan cheese and Luna and coconut ice cream milkshakes. Many items are house-made and those that aren't are purchased from local producers or farms. The atmosphere is open and airy like a diner in NYC. Open Mon-Sat 11:00am-10:00pm.

good shakes, and greens - Edit
Dick's is a good place to go with non vegans. They have good vegan shakes, and they have really good collard greens!

Oh, that MILKSHAKE!! - Edit
The milkshake brought this boy to the yard, and it did not dissapoint. Not only is it vegan, they have a separate mixer dedicated to the vegan shakes. The tempeh BBQ burger was very good too. When I asked to be sure the sauce was vegan, the server drew the correct conclusion that I wanted a fully vegan dinner.

Well, the milkshakes & service were good.... - Edit
Dick's is a decent place to go eat with omni friends and seemed very family-friendly. I was delighted by the prospect of a chocolat milkshake (hadn't had one in years!) and was not disappointed when it arrived. Definitely try one if you stop by here! For lunch, I ordered a tempeh bbq burger with the yam "not-fries." While the "bbq" sauce was flavorful and delicious, it tasted more like a curry sauce. I was a little disappointed since I was expecting and craving a bbq flavor, and I'm not sure why they call that sauce bbq at all. The yam "not-fries" as well as my bf's regular "not-fries" both arrived burnt, but the chipotle ketchup we ordered with them was very, very good. My omni bf ordered a buffalo burger, but the staff happily accommodated his request for no dairy on it and substituted daiya cheese. He said it tastes good but the patty kept crumbling. The service was prompt and attentive without being obtrusive. I might be back; if so, it will be for the milkshake alone.
Pros: dairy-free milkshakes, chipotle ketchup
Cons: vegan bbq sauce not like bbq sauce, burnt not-fries

Vegan options at a meat heavy joint! - Edit
These guys specialize in burgers and have a lot of meat, but when it comes to looking out for Vegans, they really go out of their way compared to many other places. All the sides are vegan, they have a vegan shake, and the couple of burger options are really good. The Portobello burger is fantastic. Well worth it if you are in the area and have already gone to Sweat Hereafter and looking for something else, or if you are with Vegetarian/Omnivore friends/family!
Pros: Vegan Options

I expected more, - Edit
I ordered the BBQ tempeh burger with a side of collard greens. NOW, the sides were great- the cole slaw and greens tasted fantastic, but they are hard to screw up. The burger didn't taste like the tempeh had enough flavor and it was filling, but again, not full of tons of flavor. I've heard they are usually good, so I would give it another chance. Also, they have a good drink menu.
Pros: Great location, Economical choices, Staff knowledgeable of vegan diet
Cons: Tempeh tasted off

Everything was great - Edit
The tempeh burger, the fries, the coleslaw, the kim chee, the housemade catsup. All excellent. And the waitstaff was knowledgeable and positive about veganism.

Many veg options - Edit
While this is not a vegetarian restaurant, they have definitely kept us in mind. They have many vegan options to choose from. The tempeh burger with vegan cheese is a must have. Also, all the sides are vegan! There really is a good selection.
Also, the prices are reasonable.
Pros: many options
Cons: reasonably priced
