Many items are house-made and those that aren't are purchased from local producers or farms. The atmosphere is open and airy like a diner in NYC. Reported closed November 2021.

As good as non-vegan-only places get

Loved it here, truly delicious tempeh burger and vegan milkshake - out of many other tempting options - suggested that this place was doing as much to cater to vegan needs as any nonvegan place I've ever been to, and then some. Attentive service too!

Great place near 23rd in PDX

Not many vegan options on 23rd in Portland but found this gem nearby. Everything we ordered was delicious: veggie burgers, pickled veggies, fries, sweet potato fries. Good selection of beers and creative drinks.

Pros: Vegan burger options, Veggie options, Vegan items labeled

Nice to hangout with non vegans

So I had the famous mylkshake made with coconut bliss ice cream, which I selected the seasonal option (with marrionberry). It was awesome with very strong but still natural flavour. It is a shame that the salted caramel one is not vegan (contains butter)! As to the vegan hazelnut burger mine was served with some steamed kale and tomatoes, and well, both burger and the side was OK but nothing special. However there are still more vegan options offered so I definitively recommend Dick's Kitchen.

Pros: many vegan options, smoothies, nice staff

Cons: not fully vegan

good shakes, and greens

Dick's is a good place to go with non vegans. They have good vegan shakes, and they have really good collard greens!

Oh, that MILKSHAKE!!

The milkshake brought this boy to the yard, and it did not dissapoint. Not only is it vegan, they have a separate mixer dedicated to the vegan shakes. The tempeh BBQ burger was very good too. When I asked to be sure the sauce was vegan, the server drew the correct conclusion that I wanted a fully vegan dinner.

Vegan options at a meat heavy joint!

These guys specialize in burgers and have a lot of meat, but when it comes to looking out for Vegans, they really go out of their way compared to many other places. All the sides are vegan, they have a vegan shake, and the couple of burger options are really good. The Portobello burger is fantastic. Well worth it if you are in the area and have already gone to Sweat Hereafter and looking for something else, or if you are with Vegetarian/Omnivore friends/family!

Pros: Vegan Options

I expected more,

I ordered the BBQ tempeh burger with a side of collard greens. NOW, the sides were great- the cole slaw and greens tasted fantastic, but they are hard to screw up. The burger didn't taste like the tempeh had enough flavor and it was filling, but again, not full of tons of flavor. I've heard they are usually good, so I would give it another chance. Also, they have a good drink menu.

Pros: Great location, Economical choices, Staff knowledgeable of vegan diet

Cons: Tempeh tasted off

Everything was great

The tempeh burger, the fries, the coleslaw, the kim chee, the housemade catsup. All excellent. And the waitstaff was knowledgeable and positive about veganism.

Many veg options

While this is not a vegetarian restaurant, they have definitely kept us in mind. They have many vegan options to choose from. The tempeh burger with vegan cheese is a must have. Also, all the sides are vegan! There really is a good selection.

Also, the prices are reasonable.

Pros: many options

Cons: reasonably priced
