Generally have to modify items to be vegan - Edit
I was confused at first, but it appears that this restaurant is the same as Denali Brew Pub in general... at least when I went to DBP there was a “Twister Creek Specials” section on the menu. My husband and I were able to veganize the pretzels (no butter added to the tops and sub marinara sauce for the beer cheese for dipping). The only item we were told was vegan as is was the teriyaki veggie rice dish, which we split and which I thought was really tasty... and felt very healthy! We also split fries. It was all pretty delicious.

One vegan option - Edit
The only vegan option was curry. It was good, but more options would be preferable.

Excellent Vegan Nachos - Edit
Great vegan options for a small town. The Twister Nachos are 100% Vegan by default. Menu marks VG, or V for vegan options. The cashew cream sauce and house made vegan walnut meat was delicious. I think I chose the best option in town for a vegan meal!

Yummy Nachos - Edit
The twister nachos (I think that's what they're called) are delicious. You do not need to modify them, they're already vegan. They come with a walnut meat and a cashew sauce. So good!

I would definitely eat the vegan nachos again. And the sweet potato fries were irresistible. Love finding a yummy vegan restaurant in Little Talkeetna!

Delicious beer, serviceable sammie. - Edit
(Of note, it’s no longer Twister Creek, but Denali Brew Pub)
Read moreMy party stopped here, while waiting for the train.
The atmosphere and decor is quaint and colorful and the staff friendly.
I ordered the Grove IPA, which was filtered through Christmas trees or what have you. Delicious.
For lunch, I ordered the Solstice sandwich on wheat, sans cheese. She had forgotten to serve it on wheat, which was fine. However, for $14, I was hoping it would be more than just hummus and avocado slathered on two slices of non toasted bread. Had it been a grab-n-go sandwich for $5, I’d have given it a higher rating. But, for an entree, it’s not deserving of the price. The sweet potato fries were fantastic, though.
Overall, it did the job.
Pros: Great beer.
Cons: Expensive for what you’re getting.

Mountain Sized Veggie Burger - Edit
The owners are vegetarian, but serve reindeer and fish as part of the 'Alaska' experience. The restaurant is connected to Denali Brewing Company, a local micro brew. The house made veggie burger is made of chic peas, broccoli, mushroom, and other general goodness. The patty is HUGE and is served with mountain sized sweet potato fries and a lemon caper aioli for dipping. If you've found yourself in Talkeetna, enjoy the view . . . then enjoy Twister Creek Restaurant!
