Really yummy food - Edit

Really yummy food, the falafel and hummus was good, and the sweet potato and quinoa salad was tasty. We tried the brownie and it was really soft and yummy.

Lovely food - Edit

I've been a fan of Deliciously Ella's since buying her first cookbook. The food is wholesome yet tasty and the mae sponge cake a dream.

Pros: Variety good

Cons: On the dear side

Yummy but overpriced - Edit

Seriously yummy stuff (New menu, June 2017) but very small portions and hence overpriced dishes - e.g. a small serving of wild rice and butternut squash with lots of lettuce to fill the large gap left on the huge plate by the small servings of the other two.

Pros: Yummy, healthy - low oil & baked; fresh

Cons: small portions , overpriced & expensive

Lunching - Edit

A nice deli with friendly staff. Lunch was good and you have a choice of 4 things. Flavoursome and just right for lunch but at £9.50 a pop it's not something I would chose everyday.

Pros: taste, staff

Cons: price

selective service - Edit

The food was quite good with healthy options and the portions were decent. However I would suggest Mae Deli staff receive diversity training as passive micro-aggressions were apparent whenever me and my friend visit (we are both people of colour). We have noticed how we are ignored at times in favour of white people (to put it bluntly) and unfortunately this greatly hinders our experience. We live a few blocks away so we visit often out of convenience and we've encountered this 90% of the time. Hope this is seen as constructive advice 🌱

Pros: Food, Tumeric lattes, Smoothies

Cons: passive discrimination

Great food, weirdly serves meat - Edit

They serve a standard box which you can pick and choose dishes to go in, strangely there's meat available at an extra price. I've never seen anyone order it in my many visits. Aside from that, everything is vegan and delicious. Would be one of the best vegan places in London... If only it were vegan. Can't speak highly enough of "The MaE Coffee" as well, which is a crazy good coconut coffee.

Edit: Is now vegan! 5 stars!!!

Pros: Amazingly tasty food, Great coffee

Cons: Serves meat, and it just seems out of place.

decent food but overpriced - Edit

Had a decent meal here but I found the portions tiny for the price. I also feel that serving meat goes against the ethos of this place

Confusing - Edit

Had a pleasant salad and tea which came to 12 quid. Very surprised that everything is vegan apart from chicken and salmon! I'm also confused by a motto on the wall which states "don't eat anything your Great Grandmother wouldn't recognise as food". I'm pretty sure my Great Grandmother wouldn't recognise the quinoa in my salad I ate there, or many of the other ingredients used. A nice spot but not a place I would visit regularly.

shame the pancakes are not vegan - Edit

Slightly disappointed that the pancakes were not vegan. They don't actually label things as vegan, but just list down the ingredients so you have to read through the list. Considering that their website says their food is focuses on plant based ingredients, I was slightly disappointed by this.
The avocado on toast was very yummy, the bread was really good. I had the green glow smoothie, which was very tasty.

Pros: tasty & healthy

Cons: no vegan pancakes, reluctant to label products vegan

Tasty, filling salads - Edit

If you've ever cooked from Ella's cookery book then you'll know what to expect, and it didn't disappoint in taste or range. Some gorgeous salads and a hot curry to choose from. I think everything was pre made so it's a case of point to what you want and tadah, there you go, pay and sit down.

The staff weren't friendly the day I went, but it was excruciatingly hot inside, terribly busy and they were not rude.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Delicious

Cons: Expensive, Very hot building on warm day, Not labelled vegan

Yummy Flavorful Food - Edit

I've been enjoying her cookbook and blog and was excited to go to her deli. My husband, not so much, but he was completely won over. All the food was creative and yummy. Most of it is pre-made which makes for a quick meal, if needed. Tea with rice milk was delicious along with with the Mae Cake. So good. Bought her second cookbook on our way out.

yum! - Edit

Love this little deli - food is really yummy and the desserts are too good to be true! Shame she feels the need to sell meat and fish alongside plant based goodness but these can easily be avoided and everything else is vegan and gluten free too.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Delicious desserts

Cons: Some may find it expensive

delicious healthy vegan fare - Edit

I was so excited to check out deliciously Ella's first shop and it didn't disappoint! The salads and aubergine curry were to die for. My only complaint is it was super busy and they'd sold out of rocky road chocolate deserts :( good excuse to go back!
