Vegan Middle-Eastern Desserts - Edit
I stumbled by this shop filled with bright-colored pastries and sweets. I didn't think any were vegan, but they captured my eye long enough to notice vegan labeling. The more I looked, the more I saw. Delicatessen Del Mundo's options were extensive, and the taste did not disappoint.
Read moreFrom the extensive selection, we settled on the strawberry/Barberry Turkish delight. The center was creamy and dense, wrapped in a chewy taffy covered in dried barberries. The sweetness overwhelms but contains a nice balance of fruit flavor. Anybody who enjoys the balance of taste and textures would love this dessert.
The chocolate/pistachio pastry brought me back down: less sweet but rich. The flaky crust soaked in chocolate could have had a bit more pistachio: still a great choice.
I highly recommend this authentic Middle Eastern bakery. You will not be disappointed by the options or the quality.
