3 stars for the location but.....

Beautiful location on the river! A unique cafe onboard HMS Vale, with stunning views and there are even binoculars available for visitors to do a spot of bird watching while enjoying a hot dog. We saw plenty of birds but sadly no seals, afterwards we had a walk omg the footpath towards Woodbridge and saw rabbits and a fawn.
There are tables onboard and also on the pathway where toilets can be found also. There's a board explaining the history of the boat which was interesting.
The food was OK. We were hoping the Beans on Toast would be made with fresh chunky sourdough but the bread was just run of the mill sliced bread. The Vegan Sausage Roll was a bit dry (maybe it had been sat in the warm glass cabinet for too long) and was more pastry than filling. The Teacake was dry as.
Sometimes I think us vegans should be grateful for just seeing vegan options on a menu, and to be fair there were LOTS of vegan options on this menu so at least they acknowledge vegans, so for that reason and for the lovely location and the experience I've given it 3 stars, but for food alone I'd honestly have to give it 2 stars, the food wasn't what we were expecting.

Great vegan sosage rolls

Lovely place to sit with a cuppa or a beer and watch the changing scene of the Deben. Bird life and occasionally a seal or two bobbing around.

Indoor and outdoor seating.

Pros: Sosage rolls, Good beer, Fine tea
