Good pace to hang and work - Edit
I commute to Winston-Salem weekly and sometimes arrive early so I can visit DeBeen. It's a lovely space with colorful murals, plenty of natural light, and different types of seating. There are convenient outlets and USB ports, so it's good for working. (The music is soft, and masked by a fountain.) The coffee is tasty, and the baked goods are all vegan. Diverse clientele. Dogs allowed. The staff is nice. If you're getting a drip coffee and a muffin, there's a bit of a self-service vibe, but that doesn't bother me.

The fresh pastries and coffee were great, the smoothies could be better. A little icy and made of a concentrate/base so not the freshest but still good flavor. The inside of this place is super cute and dog friendly which is a bonus!

Excellent coffee and great vegan and GF snacks at fair price - Edit
The shop is in the first floor of an apartment building at downtown Bailey Park; nicely finished with some convenient 30 minute parking in front. The young staff have all been helpful and know their products. They have lots of espresso and drip coffee options, and a good choice of non-dairy milk at prices below many Winston-Salem coffee shops. The best part of the place, though, is the wide assortment of mostly vegan and often GF muffins, doughnuts, cookies, bars, and other sweets to go with the coffee. I haven't tried the vegan gelato but the variety of flavors is impressive. Favorite treat so far: a white chocolate chip lavender-nuanced birthday-cake iced doughnut; but the chocolate chip sandwich was a standout as well.
