Heerlijk aziatisch vegan - Edit

It was nice - Edit
It isn't really formal but it was good. When you order a main dish you get an enormous plate of rice. I had a budha delight and I liked it. I also had a nice piece of oreo-cake. If you can't finish your meal you can ask for a box to put it in. Drinks are not served in a glass but in the original can. It was pretty crowded, reserving is recommended

Very good and tasty Asian food! Separate veggie menu!! - Edit
Second time we were here, and again we really enjoyed the vegan Asian food here! The vegan chicken sate as starter is really crunchy, has sweet sauce and is yummy! Our mains this time were Buddha's delight and chicken gong bao. Lots of veggies and tofu in the first, mushrooms, sugar snaps and soy chicken in dark sauce in the latter. Served with white rice and rice noodles, all very tasty. Next time we will take the dumplings we had the first time again :) So far we tried four mains, can recommend them all!

Pros: Separate menu for veggie food. Vegan options, clearly marked. Some can be made vegan!, Very friendly staff!
Cons: Can be crowded, Some tables are real close together, (but these are hardly a real issue)

Heerlijke maaltijden, vers bereid.. open keuken... vriendelijk personeel... eindelijk iets gevonden om als vegan met mijn man (zoooo niet-vegan) uit eten te gaan!! Prijs-kwaliteit is echt heel goed!!! Ook geschikt voor mensen met een minder volle portemonnee!!

Delicious vegan Chinese food - Edit
Had an amazing dinner at this restaurant. The two vegan dishes I ordered were both really delicious (Gong Bao mushrooms and Stir fried eggplant with green beans). Vegan options are plentiful and clearly indicated on the menu. Would definitely recommend this place

Will come again - Edit
There are few asian restaurants which offer a true asian flavour. There are even fewer ones with vegan options and even LESS with a whole vegetarian/vegan menu.

Great place for veggie/vegan food! - Edit
Great place for Surinam and Chinese vegetarian and vegan food. Nowadays they also have a meat menu, but the vegetarian menu is still very extensive. They do mock meat dishes as well als veggie dishes and mushroom dishes (king oyster mushrooms!!!). They do a great mock meat "broodje pom", which for the non-Surinams and non-Dutch reading this, is the best thing Surinams invented! Also the sateh and their "duck" and Chinese salted vegetables noodle soup, are fantastic! Great, friendly staff as well. Very much recommended!

Nothing that special - but nothing to complain about either - Edit
Amids plenty of other Chinese restaurant and shops, not far from the main station, there is De Kade, a bright open venue with not much of decor. Very simple but nice furniture and a half-open kitchen.
Read moreI was told that every dish on the menu that is marked as vegetarian is vegan (green cross) and every dish that is marked with a red cross can be made vegan by request. So really many dishes to choose from as a vegan.
I had the Buddha's delight - a simple dish that was prepared really well, fresh ingredients, quite generous portion, came with a generous portion of rice as well.
It isn't particularly cheap to eat at De Kade, but that's just Holland, I guess. At least food was good and one will be satisfied.
It's sad that apparently they used to be meat-free for quite some time until they decided not to anymore.

Simply delicious - Edit
We tried the veg chicken with sweet & sour sauce and the broccoli tofu, both accompanied by steamed rice and they were simply delicious. The portions were really big and satiating, so we had to ask for take away boxes for the rest. They have a special vegetarian menu and many of the options can be made vegan. The waitress was very nice. Totally recommendable!

Good vegan food - Edit
It is really a pity that this place, located in "Chinatown" in walking distance from Rotterdam Central Station, was not able to survive as a 100% vegetarian restaurant. It is still a good place for vegetarians and vegans, especially for those who love Asian food. They still have loads of delicious vegan options. The staff is very friendly and understands the concept of veganism.

Must try - Edit
Really good restaurant. Many vegan options, some of them I've never seen on any other menu so it was nice to try something new. Have eaten here several times and was never disappointed, food always tasted very good, and the plates always beautifull made-up. The restaurant itself is nice to, spacious and with a view at the open kitchen. Staff is very nice and helpfull and can tell you wether a vegetarian dish can be made vegan to, als the menu is both in Dutch and English and vegan dishes are clearly marked vegan. If you're in a hurry, tell them, they'll serve you very fast but if you want to sit there for hours that's fine to, they're very hospitable.

Awesome veg Asian Food - Edit
The place is nice, warm and clean. We had a warm welcome and all the staff was really gentle and friendly.
Read moreThey also have English menu and a lot of Vegan options. The De Kade only opened five Weeks ago (now is end Oct 16) and you maybe won't find the vegan choices marked on the English menu, but ask and they will explain you everything!
The food is amazing, they have no-meat-chicken and duck, soups and delicious Vietnamese Spring Rolls and a lot more.
If we ever come back to Rotterdam we will surely eat at De Kade!

Nice and fast - Edit
We ate here for lunch. Ca 1/3 of the menu is vegan. They have a menu with vegan items labeled. They just opened and I think there will be more vegan items in the future. The sweet potato fries are great. I will definitly come back to have dinner. Meals came very fast.

Asian vegetarian and vegan - Edit
They just started a couple of days ago and have a nice menu. Mostly Asian inspired with mock meat or veggies. Portions are big. There are still a few things to improve but I am sure that will happen in the next coming weeks :) recommend
