De Herbivoor

Great food, lovely company and it feels just right. Worth a visit even if your are not directly in the city. Would be my usual lunch spot if I lived in Groningen. They only do lunch now. I would have loved to see what they could do if they would be open longer hours and dinners.

Fantastic location in the centre of town. Really friendly staff and good, wholesome, tasty food. I went with two omni friends who loved the food too.

Ik heb een tijdje geleden een take-away lunch gehad van de Herbivoor. Volle smaken, goed vullend voor de rest van de middag. Ook een dikke plus dat ze rabarberschorle hebben natuurlijk.

Goede prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. Het is uiteraard duurder dan een snack van een keten, maar ook honderd keer voedzamer en smaakvoller.

This beautifull little place in the city centre is showing their love and care for food and nature in all possible ways. The wooden furniture, plants and flower decorations give the place a very natural feel. Handmade ceramic plates and bowls by a local artist used for serving the food on added to this feeling. Very tasty simple dishes on the menu. I had a very (hart) warming soup and a delicious beetroot quinoa salad. Good bread on the side. The kitchen is open so you see what you get. All is freshly made on the spot. They serve nice organic wine. Loved it ladies; thank you!

I have eaten here twice now and highly recommend it.

The first time I ordered a burger (I can't remember which one). This is my gold standard for vegan food to this day. So many contrasting flavours creating something delicious :)

The second time I ate with my mom near closing time. The owner asked me if we wanted to try out a new dish. After we tried out one of the deserts. Again, very good! When I asked how she prepared some ingredients, she was happy to tell me and even gave me some leftover deserts!

The atmosphere is cozy, the food is great and the people are even better. This is my favourite place in Groningen!

Groningen has many nice vegan options.. But the herbivoor is defenetly our favorit!

I was here more than once and everytime they serve nice food. I want to recommend this place to everyone who wants to eat good food!

Nice place, great people but the food is way below par. especially for a restaurant that specializes in vegan food.

The food we had was a quinoa salad (tasteless and overpriced for what you get) and a burger on a regular piece of bread.

As a vegan who loves to cook, I know what food is out there and how good we can make the food.
The non-vegans will have a stereo-type idea about vegan food, and that get's confirmed with the food we ate here.
With more and more people getting aware of the vegan movement, or with a healthier way of life. A vegan specialist restaurant, should do it's utter most best to create mind blowing dishes (they don't even have to be complex, but asking for a burger, serve it a on a burger bun, with a good mix/balance of fresh produce and some vegan cheese.. instead of a warm-ish tahine saus and a salty/sour slice of bread. For the quinoa salad; it should be cold, when cooked added some salt or other herbs that give taste to the quinoa and a way higher ratio (2:2, max 3:2) then what we had (maybe 5:1))

Definitely will pass by again to have a new look at the menu, and try out a dessert or just have a drink.

Lovely staff! You can see that they're passionate about the food they make. The chocolate cake was delicious!!!

My partner and I went to De Herbivoor and had an amazing time! The mungbean and sweet potato burger with lemon tahini sauce was the best burger I've ever had! My partner had a hummus sandwich which was also great. The staff (probably the owners) were so friendly and even gave us some recommendations for bars in the evening.
I hope to come back soon!

The place is super cool. The hosts are brilliant. I would eat there every day if I could for the food, the company, the coffee! Just great homemade food. Filling and hearty and delicious.

Nice staff, nice location and great organic vegan food, especially the legendary Mungbean Burger! Highly recommended! I will come back to "De Herbivoor" everytime I'm in Groningen! (Y)

What a brilliant place! Amazing location and very cozy ambience. We had a great meal, and my omni friend also really enjoyed it :) very filling with great sized portions and a number of options! The staff were also lovely. I'm looking forward to my next visit! 5 stars for sure
