So glad they reopened! - Edit
My first experience was when they were about to close last year. I just discovered that they reopened and I’m ecstatic! The hot bar is to die for- so many delicious vegan options!

Couldn't be happier! - Edit
Thank you small market for having a huge selection that makes me happy as a clam that won't be eaten by someone.
Read moreThe reviews were inviting, so I went - joy! The prices for organic and local produce compete with any other market around. The specials are incredible! The selection is superb for beyond the red delicious, baby spinach, vidalia onion shopper. Specialty produce is here, though it might not be too noticeable unless you look.
The bulk section is a whole wall. I love it!
Great choices for coffee and tea, nutrition, health and beauty, snacks, grains, staples, non-dairy milk, frozen selections (non dairy ice cream), and whatever else you seek at a market.
My favorite parts though other than the produce are related to the vegan salad dressings (so many!) at the $8.49/lb salad bar, the vegan labels in the prepared foods section, and of course, the juice and coffee bar. This place is reasonably priced, and it is very nice to have a large seating area to enjoy your purchases. Yum!
Oh, and there are labels for vegetarian and for vegan. Love it!
However, there is a large section for meat and animal products that kinda, as with all markets, makes me sad.... If you can avoid those areas, you'll be much happier.
Pros: Labels vegan in the prepared foods area, Gluten free vegan options, Produce
Cons: Too much for me to buy, Will buy too much

Nice Place - Edit
Dawson's is a great vegan option if in downtown Rockville. I do wish they had more vegan options in prepared foods. When I go to Dawson's I head right for the juice bar! Fresh juices and smoothies made to order are awesome! Now all they need is a short order area for vegan burgers and sandwiches salads etc.

Cons: needs larger vegan options, expand juice bar menu, needs more seating

Great Lunch Bar! - Edit
Dawson's is hard to beat for vegans and vegetarians who find themselves in Rockville for lunch on a weekday. The pay-by-weight lunch bar is really a treat. The prices are reasonable for the quality and variety of the food available, and every day there's fun variations on tofu and tempeh, salads, and interesting warm veggie sides. My sister and I are fans of the vegan ranch dressing too. Even better, they are environmentally conscious, providing reusable plates, forks, and glasses, and their eating area at the front of the store has free wifi (I'm using it right now to write this review). I came once on the weekend and the hot bar options were cut in half, but there were still a lot of solid choices.
Read moreThe store has an atmosphere similar to Whole Foods, but from my understanding it's actually independently owned. They periodically offer vegan cooking classes, and a weekly farmer's market during the warmer months. I've found the store's regular produce to be a bit expensive at times, but that's to be expected for this type of grocery store. Overall, a great find!
Pros: Delicious Food, Reasonable Price for Lunch, Location
Cons: Some store products are a bit expensive

Great natural foods market with deli - Edit
A wonderful addition to Rockville Town Center. Great salad bar, hot bar, & coffee bar. Vegan sandwiches & other items pre-made & to order. Large selection of other items too for a store that is not that large. Inside & outside seating too.
Read moreParking is an issue, tho Dawson's has dedicated, 1-hour free spaces (but that limits if you also want to window shop, go to library, etc .)
Pros: (limited) vegan items clearly marked, Can order vegan deli items
Cons: limited parking (tho 1 hr for Dawsons)

Modern, clean, and well-designed health store - Edit
Dawson's Market reminds me of a Whole Foods store, but it seems that the prices are a bit cheaper. Plenty of organic produce, healthier products, and loads of vegan products. There's a large seating area inside the store next to the entrance.
