Scandi twist on a brunch

Easy to find little spot that is 100% vegan. Nice pastries & coffee, with hot food available. Would recommend booking a table as it is small & quite busy.

Nice little Cafe

We tried this cafe as our breakfast spot and we weren’t disappointed. The crossaint was the best kind of flakey though I didn’t like the tomato, but that’s personal preference.
My highlight was the chai which was full of spices.

The space was crowded, which was good but we got the table directly next to the entrance sport which had just enough space so guests wouldn’t bump into us.

Pros: The chai , Crossaints flakey-ness

Cons: Felt a bit cramped

Great breakfast

My friend and I shared two croissants - one with scrambled tofu and sausage and the other with blackcurrant jam - and a cheese twist. The croissants tasted a little margarine-y but were otherwise great, and the tofu was especially good. Nice coffee too! Would definitely pop back if I was in the area.

Go here

I was wowed by this place, the amount of options was amazing, really friendly staff, cosy scandi vibes inside with a tiny shopping section.
We even bought a bottle of the mustard it was so good.

Had sausage roll, ham and cheese croissant, and garlic mushroom toastie, and a cinnamon roll 🥐

Pros: Delicious food, Lots of choice, Nice staff

our favorite in London

Dauns stood out as our best meal during our trip to London, even compared to some of the 'fancier' places we tried. It's a small, casual cafe with lots of options. Pleasant atmosphere and simply tasty breakfast. This would have been a repeat spot for us if we had come earlier in our stay.

Absolutely Gem

I'm so happy we found this place. Just seeing the menu online made my mouth water!
Staff are really friendly, polite, and helpful, and the food is incredible. We booked a table for brunch, I had the gf options, and it was superb. The bread alone was out of this world. As fellow gf vegans know, it's hard to find decent gf options, and most gf bread is horrid, but 6 is delicious, and you get proper doorstep slices too! The scrambled tofu was so creamy and light, the garlic mushrooms were stunning, and everything on the plate was delicious and plentiful. I also had a Christmas chai drink, which was the best hot drink I've ever tasted! I got one to take away, too. We also stocked up on Honestly Tasty cheese, which they sell alongside other vegan goodies.
I wish they'd open a restaurant in Whitstable. There are a lot of vegans here with a distinct lack of options.
Honestly, if you are in the area, choose Dauns, you won't regret it, friendlier service, food is amazing and value for money, unlike its vegan neighbour across the road.
We will definitely return, im excited to try the whole vegan gf menu.

Pros: Huge choice for gf vegans, Amazing food, Really great staff

Cons: Wished it was in Kent!

Scandinavian Vegan - Yum!

It’s exactly what it sounds like and is so delicious. It’s small and can get busy (book ahead if possible) but I loved the food I had and would definitely come again.

Nice for coffee

We just went there for coffee and afternoon snack.
Got a croissant and cinnamon roll with matcha and regular latter. Everything was great.

Few seats inside and outside.
Also have some more Scandinavian products for sale, like gummies and cheese.

Pros: Freundlicher Service, Lecker, Gutes Essen

Scrumptious vegan plates at amazing value!

Brought friends here to try and we were blown away how yummy the filled croissants and toasties were at exceptional value for London. My partner wanted to order another filled croissant they were so good. Not to be missed!

I tried their scrambled tofu with all the toppings. It was great! Service was a little slow so they asked if I wanted anything while I waited which was do kind. I got the peach danish which was yummy. I really want to try the cinnamon bun next.

I tried the brunch this time. The sourdough toast was just perfection. It’s the best bread/toast I’ve ever eaten perfectly buttered and squishy but crispy too. So yummy! The rest was ok and not my favorite beans or tofu scramble, potatoes, etc.

Best Toasties in London

Lovely little restaurant /cafe just behind Liverpool Street station (about 10 mins walk). Wanted everything on the menu but settled for a "tuna" melt and a mozzarella toastie accompanied by some swedish crisps. 100% perfect. Tasty filling, perfectly melted, crispy bread and hot. The crisps were a lovely addition, tasting of pickled onions. There is so much to try here we will be back.

Pros: Varied menu, Creative fillings, Efficient service

Really great options here, lovely vibe. And you know what it did remind me of the Scandinavian cafes I frequented during my time in Copenhagen!

Unique

I’ve never been to a vegan Swedish cafe before - the food was nice, I had the meatballs. The real star of the show was the traditional cinnamon bun which was absolutely delicious.

Went back and tried their smorrebrod (3 for £15) which were excellent! The Brie they use is so realistic.

Decent food, but Scandinavian...?

As a Norwegian I was curious about this Scandinavian restaurant. First: The sign says «Scandinåvian Vagän», which is the incorrect use of the Swedish letters ä and å. Second: Most of the menu was either British food, Swedish, or Danish food. A clear lack of Norwegian food. That can be forgiven...

The food was OK, but it wasn't amazing. The scrambled tofu was super wet, and the sausage weren't bad.

I had to repeat the name of the tea I ordered several times (Smörgårdste), and it came in a mug, not a pot as started on the menu (but I still paid the same price as a mug).

I'm sure you can get better scramble elsewhere in London, but was OK.

Not bad but not 5 stars come on everyone

This place has been on my list to try for forever because of all the 5 star reviews.

We finally went this morning… the vegan brunch plate (scrambled tofu, beans, sausage) had good reviews from others. The open sandwiches were just okay.

It’s not bad but there are far better places for brunch in London.

I agree, breakfast is pretty average. If you want a good vegan breakfast I recommend trying ahima vegan cafe in pinner, and the gallery cafe in bethnal green. Their breakfasts are awesome!

A gem in London

Insanely tasty - I am usually a very picky eater but here I tried a lot of positions on the menu and they were all magnificent. The prices are very reasonable, I’d even say cheap for London and for the portions you get. The staff is very friendly and happy to accommodate food requests. One of the best places in London, hands down.

Cons: None!

Excellent and interesting food, with a relaxed vibe

100% vegan. Wonderful food, especially the Scandi open sandwiches (smorrebrod) with beetroot salad. The open sandwiches are served cold, which was perfect for the hot weather. I also enjoyed the trifle (a special) and the in-house carrot juice.

Relaxed vibe, everyone very friendly, great prices. Top recommendation for food in London.

Pros: Food quality, Relaxed vibe, Fair prices

Nice Swedish Vegan Dog

I had the Swedish Basic Dog and it was very good. You can either eat it with fork and knife or roll it up because it comes in a flatbread. Sadly they were out of croissants this day but I ate a cinnamon bun for desert which was also very tasty. Good to eat inside and for take awy!

Best cafe in the area

I think you’ll struggle to find a place that serves a better vegan toastie anywhere in London.

Delightful Nordic twist to all the food. What’s not to love?

Pros: The 100% vegan menu (in particular the toasties), The friendly staff/owner/chef , The affordable prices
