Oh my wow

I got there a bit after 8pm and apparently it was already past last order but they invited me in anyway and I got to order the bibimbap. I was very excited that you can choose the spice level and they had one for completely mild.
First they served free hot green tea which was fantastic. And then the food came out. It was a feast!! So many banchan (side dishes)💕
I saw other reviews loving the pancakes but as I was on my own a full order would've been too much. I was so happy to see two pancakes among the banchan!
As I ordered the mild version I got soy sauce instead of gochujang 😋
It was SO good!!!
I cleared everything except kimchi and one pickled vegetable that was slightly too spicy for me. I didn't ask if the kimchi is vegan, since it's too spicy for me anyways so I usually don't touch it(I tried to tell them but I was served kimchi anyway).
Bonus also the suuuuper pretty ex- and interior!

Pros: Price/portion , So good, Atmosphere

Temple-Style Cuisine

Small menu serving Buddhist temple-style cuisine that features fresh seasonal produce, as well as focuses on the medicinal properties of food and tea. That being the case, the food does tend to be lighter on the tastebuds. Beautiful calm atmosphere with traditional seats on the floor and a tranquil garden. Staff was friendly and helpful, even giving free dishes on the house when I returned a second time. Do emphasise that you don't consume fish, as they have both anchovy seasoning and vegan versions of their menu items - the Korean definition of vegetarianism leans more towards pescetarianism. Allium-free customised options without garlic and onion are also available. Walking distance from Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal.

really disappointed.

according to the reviews I expected much better.
First of all, you have to watch out to the kimchi. We went 2 times, 2 times we said "no fish we're vegan", she understand but ... the kimchi arrived 2 times on the table !!!
Secondly, the food is very bland execpt for the pancakes, the only dish we enjoy but it lake salt and she didn't want to bring us ...
Third, we never had the same quantity of pancakes : first time 9, second time 12 and we ordered to take away : we had 8 only !!!
Not recommanded, you should better go to Asalam !

Cons: poor service, not reliable for vegan people, bland

Deliciously simple food with a view of Mount Hallasan

This was a beautiful restaurant with gorgeous wooden furniture and a view of Mount Hallasan from the window.

We had the Perilla seed soup with hand cut buckwheat noodles and also ordered the buchin (Korean pancakes). I would recommend both things. The soup was mild and comforting and the noodles were wonderfully chewy. The pancakes were terrific too, and the portions were quite big - I think we got 10 pancakes.

Pros: Stunning decor, Lush chewy noodles, Good portion size for the pancakes

Unique setting

We went for dinner here. It is a unique setting that makes you feel like you aren’t in a city. Floor seating and all wood. The staff understood that we were vegan and we tried several dishes including pancakes, bibimbap and glutinous rice. Everything tasted good and the veggies were fresh.

Delicious traditional Korean food in a peaceful, rustic setting

We had a great culinary experience at Dasoni.

Guests should take off their shoes when entering the restaurant.

No fish was on the menu. There are six dishes to choose from, we ordered:
- Bibimbap (KRW9,000)
- Deulkkae sujebi (KRW9,000)
- Dotori muchim (cold dish)(KRW10,000-13,000)
- Buchim (KRW6,000)

We said at the start that we are vegan, so they took out one kimchi side dish. All the rest was vegan.

We got all of our food within five minutes of ordering, which was great for us hungry souls.

The food was very good, the interior design calm and peaceful, the atmosphere very pleasant, with beautiful background music. The wooden tables are magnificent. It feels like a luxurious temple setting.

We definitely recommend Dasoni.

Highly recommended for food quality and ambience

Had an amazing meal here. Vegan options are very well done and thoughtfully curated. Had the bibimbap which was top drawer with a unique and memorable flavour. Sides were also great. Place has a cozy and authentic set up as well. Place to go for a vegan Korean meal in Jeju.

Authentic Korean food

Awesome side dishes. Very chill and floor sitting dining. Surrounded by wooden decor and greenery outside. Bibimbap portion was a little IMO.

Pros: Great side dishes

Nice atmosphere

We had the lotus leaf rice set and sujebi. Lotus leaf rice I would definitely recommend but the sujebi was quite bland and doughy. Kimchi was excellent though. Restaurant also has a traditional Korean tea house feel and it’s one where you sit on the floor to dine.

Absolute Favorite place in south Korea

We visited many restaurants during our south korea trip and this one was our favorite. The food was soo delicious, we whished we had the time to come again. It was also very cheap and fresh. We had the perilla seed soup, one with dumplings, one with noodles, and both tasted amazing and not bland. If you want spicey food, the spicey dishes are marked in the menu (english menu available). Also the side dishes were really great and we loved everything. The restaurant interior is very traditional with a great outside view. The owner was very welcoming, she directly asked us if we are vegan and we felt very comfortable.

Highly recommended

Really nice place with greenery, personally felt this was the best veg Korean meal i had in Jeju. Everything was nicely seasoned yet healthy. Do ask for kimchi to be removed as it is not vegan, else the bibimbap and remaining side dishes are vegan by default.

Great traditional korean food and tea

When they took my order, they asked if it should be make vegan or not. Bibimbap is always vegan here and so are most of the banchan. I had to ask for the 칼국수 (kalguksu) to be made vegan. The 매실 (maesil) tea was excellent and they said they make it themselves. The 도토리/dotori (acorn jelly) was also very good and also is always vegan.

Pros: Everything here can be made vegan if you ask, Great tea, Really nice, more traditional, interior

Great Experience!

Visited in early Oct22. I didn't try the sujebi or acorn jelly that others said was disappointing. While I do agree that there was no strong flavouring (no MSG), I think the bibimbap was sufficiently flavoured for my liking, it tasted natural, healthy and at times slightly fruity.
You mix it yourself and for 9000 won I think it's of value.

I spoke no Korean and I think I entered the wrong way (?) when I said "Yatchae restaurant?" the lady understood, said "Ah, Vegan?" and brought out the English menu. She understood the word "take out" so I took out buchim too. Buchim was OK the seasonal vegetables was corn in Oct22 and the texture resembled the potato mochi banchan but I think it's best eaten hot not taken out eaten cold.

The omija tea was sour and fruity and the shibjeon daebotang was quite bitter, you can eat the few pieces of jujube in the tea to balance the taste out. ("It's bitter & the only reason you continue drinking it is for health" kind of bitter. Actually it tastes just like the Chinese 八珍汤, if you drank that before)

You have to sit cross legged on the floor cushions but that wasn't a problem for me. I went near sunset, the restaurant ambience was really nice. I had a great experience here and will like to return whenever I visit Jeju.

bland

i can get better korean food almost anywhere. nothing special but the restaurant decor and that’s not even that special to be honest. tasted like no seasoning at all was in the food.

sujebi was good but like i said it did not blow me away at all. skip here and go somewhere worth it. best thing of the banchan was the potato pancake.

Cute hanok tea house

This hanok-style tea house serves a variety of vegetable dishes. All dishes are around 10000krw.

The perilla stew with wheat dumplings was good but a little too bland for my liking. The side dishes were nice, especially the potato cakes. I didn't have the kimchi as it contains fish sauce.

The staff was friendly and one of the employees was fluent in English.

While the food (or at least the dish I had) isn't mind-blowing, it's definitely worth a visit as the place itself is gorgeous.

Beautiful place, ok food

The place is very beautiful, almost everything is vegan or otherwise can be made vegan. We had the acorn jelly salad and we're a bit disappointed, maybe we just chose the worse dish on the menu.
The experience and the place was lovely, though.

Yummy!!

There is an english menu available, and the server was very accommodating and said whatever we order, she was able to make vegan. The food was absolutely delicious and refreshing. They even gave us an extra order of potato pancakes (we ordered 2, they gave us 3 to accommodate for our bigger group). Even the restraunt atmosphere was so nice and a unique experience, as you sit on the floor! (there were cushion pads so it was quite comfortable) Extremely pleasant and such a nice experience!
