Fantastic food in a quiet courtyard

I’m so happy I opted for this place to lunch! A beautiful, quiet courtyard in central Nottingham to enjoy (the September, in this case) sunshine whilst tucking into some great food. Quick service, lovely local produce and friendly staff. Had the smokey cashew cheese and caramelised onion toastie and a beautiful chocolatey-peanutty-salty ‘disc’ for afters. Wonderful to be able to pick anything from the extensive menu - wish I had a bottomless pit for a stomach, I’d have had it all. :)

Pros: All vegan, Beautiful courtyard , Reasonably priced

Always feel good food

You can tell that a great deal of thought goes into each dish. Food is cooked fresh and beautifully presented. Also check out the shop upstairs.

Pros: Zero waste, Locally sourced

Great spot!

Lovely cafe in a great spot in Nottingham. I love Cobden Chambers, it’s like an oasis of calm from the busy city centre just steps away. Dash Garden cafe is at the end with a good selection of seating inside and out. Luckily I visited on a sunny day and spent a relaxing lunch time just chilling outside. Good food and friendly staff. Also handy to have the zero waste store next door for stocking up before heading home : )

Sunday brunch.

First discovered this place today, a little difficult to find but worth it. I love not having to worry about what I order. Staff are so kind, food and drinks are delicious and the prices very reasonable for city centre eating! I'll be back soon.

Great Location

Love that the cafe is in a big space at the end of a large courtyard area. Cobden Chambers can be hard to find for those who haven't been before, there's a small entrance way between Michael Levin Jewellers and Nkd Waxing (or next door but one to Bodega). In nice weather Dash have tables and chairs outside for that lovely holiday feeling. Inside it has a great mix of seating, I really enjoy the booths. The food is fab and if I lived in Nottingham I would visit all the time, as it is I go whenever I'm in the area.

Pros: Venue location - love it, Delicious food, Is home to a zero waste shop

Sun-trap courtyard garden

I recently visited this cafe as I am vegan and like to support small, independent businesses. There are tables in the cafe and adjoining art gallery or you can eat outside in the sun-trap courtyard garden, where you will find peace and tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The menu is all vegan and the business engages with local independent growers and suppliers.

I ordered a piece of millionaire shortbread which cost £3, and sat outside in glorious sunshine. The square piece of shortbread had a very hard biscuit base with a strange caramel/toffee layer covered with a very thin layer of chocolate. The 'caramel/toffee' was not what I was expecting, and had the colour and very stringy glue consistency of Evo-Stick Impact Instant Adhesive. Perhaps my tastes and expectations are out of touch with contemporary food recipes and customer choices? Perhaps the food was of less than usual quality? I was disappointed and will not buy another slice in the future. I sincerely hope other items on the menu are better prepared, as this business deserves to succeed.

Pros: Location, Environmental awareness, Supporting local and independent businesses

Cons: The 'caramel/toffee' was not what I was expecting.

Caters Wonderfully For Everyone

Amazing range of locally sourced, seasonally appropriate 100% vegan food, most of which was naturally gluten free and very low in allergens! Amazing range of vegan cakes, even a raw, refined-sugar-free cheesecake, so they really do cater for everyone. Wonderful choice of plant milks, and friendly staff who are clearly all passionate about the cause. Wheelchair access is a plus, perfect place for everyone, not just the vegans

Pros: Caters for literally everyone, Great cause, Zero waste

Small but lovely

I only managed a late morning (11.15) brunch break here, but it was already busy and it's quite small so I felt lucky to get a table. (Probably not a place to linger.) The staff were lovely and the food was all fresh and delicious - I had a notdog and cookie. There's not an extensive choice, as you'd expect from zero-waste, but enough variety and quality to please. I'd love to have stuck around for the roast dinner but will just have to go back.

Pros: Wonderful ethos, Lovely cosy place with friendly staff, Great quality fresh food

Cons: Very busy (I'd def book in future), Quite small (but let's hope it grows and grows!)

The new place to be!

Absolutely LOVE Dash Vegan...! Both the cafe and store have helpful, friendly staff who provide fabulous service and products.

The store has so many amazing products that are INCREDIBLY reasonably priced! The refillable liquids are a life saver and the scoop store is fantastic...and the range of chocolate is simply delicious. So many household products that you can’t find elsewhere, it’s truly a fabulous place for one and all!

The cafe has the perfect atmosphere for an afternoon cuppa with a friend, a work meeting, a family outing or just some you time. Yet to try much of the food, but it all smells and looks delicious - can’t wait to give it all a go!

10/10 all around for what I’ve experienced so far - glad to have such a great place in the centre of Notts!

Pros: Refilling station for household liquids., Scoop store full of herbs, spices, beans, pulses +, In the centre of town

Cons: Can’t get enough of it., Find it hard to leave as I always want more!, That more cities don’t have a Dash Vegan!

Jan 2019 update: now fully vegan. Lovely little cafe and courtyard. If you can get there when the sun is out on a lunchtime it’s a real sun trap and a little paradise in the heart of the city. Delicious food and good coffee.
