We saw the waiter drinking from the carafe of water (without using a glass) and immediately using the same carafe to poor water to customers. Our glasses were gross and both waiters coughed all over the thali set before giving it to us. They forgot to put lime in the lime soda we ordered. We ordered the thali, plain dosa and Koriander uttapam. The taste of the food was nice. Unfortunately me and my boyfriend got super ill at night after eating here. I want to give 1 star but the minimum seems to be 2.
It is part of a chain of South Indian family dining restaurants; they are "pure veg" – Indian meaning i.e. lacto-vegetarian, they have dressed tables and waiters buzzing around, and the dishes start at around Rs 90.
I've been in the one in Jaipur too, it's the same kind of place, same menu, same food... which is rather good.
As it's South Indian food many dishes are strictly vegetarian (i.e. "vegan").
Tomato or onion uttapam are very good, but the sambar is too salty. (That said, I have the feeling sambar is too salty everywhere in the North.)
Warning: there is another similarly-named restaurant not far, but on the main road, whereas this Dasaprakash is in a small straight lane with a central divider; the location on HappyCow is correct for the "proper" Dasaprakash.
That other restaurant looks more like a fast food, and they don't serve tomato uttapam, which surprised me for a supposedly South Indian restaurant in India! Therefore I haven't tried.
