Vegan thai lentil soup..drool

Such a nice spot.

We had the best ever thai lentil soup. It was just spicy enough with coconut and checked full of veggies.

They had vegan date squares and two bundt cakes too!

I went in the morning to double check about vegan soup and the girl was so nice...she made sure to save us two bowls for when we came back for lunch later (we confirmed we were coming back).

Nice little cafe

Amazing atmosphere and friendly staff. They had a vegan coconut lemon cake that was delicious and the proton was great. Coffee was also spot on. I'm glad I visited this place!

Pros: Nice environment, good portions, good coffee

Great coffee and food

We had the red curry soup, lemon coconut cake and coffee.
Everything was delicious!!
They also have another vegan dish on the menu which we didn't get.
The vegan dishes are marked on the menu and all the drinks can be made vegan with using soy or almond milk.

The hours here are a little deceiving, they are open until sunset I believe, but the kitchen is only open until 3. So you can still get coffee and cake after 3.

I would also recommend visiting the botanical gardens on site, really nice and quaint

Simple cafe with vegan options like soup and smoothies and Almond milk for hot drinks. I went at a ten o clock after breakfast so I didn't eat anything just grabbed a drink. I would like to warn visitors that are vegan like myself that there is a dead puffer fish almost trophied in the cafe and I found it quite disturbing, some others might to. However if you are in the botanical gardens for a day out I'm sure this would be great for lunch as they had a really nice looking vegan Thai curry soup with lentils and spinach so really it is your call!

change in ownership

The cafe is lovely, however the ownership has changed in 2014 and is no longer as vegan or gluten-free friendly as previous reviews mention. They could not say for certain if the bread was vegan but it is not gluten-free. Still was able to veganize some menu items but not worth going out of the way for an easy vegan meal.

A happy surprise!

I go to Tofino every 2 years or so and never knew this existed. While I was there this past May with friends, one of them managed to find this place online so we checked it out the day before we left. We were not disappointed! Most things on the menu were vegan, all things vegetarian, and they had amazing vegan double chocolate raspberry cookies! It was so good we went back again for breakfast the next morning before we left!

The atmosphere was really laid back and neat with cool books and a cute dog named Pete. Careful! If not paying attention he may try to steal your food. :) There were also baby ducks and chickens outside the window that were adorable to watch. A happy breath of fresh air for me! I'll be back on my next trip!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Baby animals!, Good portion sizes

Cons: Not everything vegan
