Food ok - Edit
I went here a few years ago and the food seemed bland to me. My friend in Iquitos told me the food has gotten better so I gave it another try. The day I went, the meal of the day was spinach soup, and then the main plate with Locro de Zapallo, white rice and green lentils. The main plate was pretty good, but the soup was weak and had little flavor. They don't add a lot of salt to things, but they bring a little dish of salt to the table (actually I think it's potassium chloride and not sodium chloride).
Read moreAs of February 2022, the meal of the day costs 25 soles (the highest price I've seen in Peru for a meal-of-the-day). I would give them 4 cows for the overall good food on the day I went .
The price is just too high for what you get, but with a lack of competition, I guess they get away with it.

1000% recommended, a refreshing, passionate vegan oasis - Edit
Such a wonderful place full of real passionate love for our friends the animals. in the cruel reality of meat eating South America, i was deeply touched to find a place so dedicated to vegan loving energy. The food is very tasty, it is an air conditioned, style full place, worth to come every day back to. Also the prices are good compared to other places. Love at first sight❤️☺️

Nice little restaurant. They serve peruvian inspired vegan plates without salt (youll have to add it). Great option to eat healthy in Iquitos.

Reasonable - food tasty but a little over-priced for local standards - Edit
This restaurant is reasonable. A set-menu which is completely vegan but at above average price. I've travelled quite a lot across Peru sampling veg*n restaurants and this is fairly typical for what I've seen and above average with respect to food quality (local basic ingredients) and ambience of the restaurant. I think 13 soles, although cheap by international prices is expensive by local standards (across Peru a set menu like this is typically 6 or 7 soles, and there is another restaurant close by serving all vegan for 10 soles, which I think is better as more local ingredients). They have a very fast service, too fast as they were trying to take plates before we were finished, and I found myself eating faster than I would have ideally liked. Mostly peruvians eating there from what I could make out and better (and still cheaper) than many of the places in Iquitos geared towards tourists that are unaware of local prices.

Hidden treasure in the heart of Iquitos - Edit
Being a vegan for 3 years now I can truely confirm that this little vegan restaurant has been designed for exactly that what a vegan, healthy human body needs. The dishes, the way they are composed, are perfectly aligned to our need. No added salt, sugar, taste enhancers. The portion is not bigger than our stomach should hold at once. All the nutritions and vitamines are included in the menu. If you want to please your tongue, this place might not be your perfect choice, but if you eat only for your vegan stomach, this unique, authentic restaurant is especially for you!!! The owner is super nice, fast service, wifi, airconditioner and just a beautiful, organic atmosphere are presented. Don't miss it if you are in Iquitos!

Mindful eating. - Edit
I can't add much to the previous reviews, the menu here is simple, but the two prices mentioned in them, both in the last 6 months of 5/s and 10/s are out of date. I can confirm that as of January 2018 the price for lunch is 13/s. In Cusco we would eat well for 6-7/s including starter, salad, main and drink and with more specialised vegan ingredients. I also found some of the vegan propaganda to be a little condescending.

asombrada - Edit
Iquitos nadie come verduras. Perfecto! Volvería y lo recomiendo :)

Loved it - Edit
Great atmosphere inspiring compassion to all sentient beens. Loved the food. Got a salad and a main dish of lentils with soy meat (really tasty and nice spiced), plus a glass of tea for 5 soles. I wish I had the chance to eat there again. Highly recommended. Staff was friendly and caring. Note: You have to add the salt yourself but that is not a problem for me.

Good energy, good food, healthy. - Edit
100% vegan place, 10 soles for a fixed menu, who change a bit everyday, always a soup, a little salad, and a main dish, a fruit as dessert, and a big glass of refresco. I really enjoyed the food, the food is without salt, but they give you salt on the side. I found the food tasty and healthy. We was going there few time with friends and always enjoyed the good energy of the owner Juan and the staff. You can also go for a free meditation practice the monday and fryday from 8pm to 9pm, I found it really interresting but we didn't had the time to try. I definitly recommend this restaurant. :)

Pleasant - Edit
I have been to several lunches at Darshan. The menu is set for a price of 10 ten soles (very reasonable). The food was different on each occasion but vegans will need to ask about the food before agreeing to dine. A soup is served that is lightly spiced but pleasant and nutritious. A main course is accompanied by a small side salad and a glass of green tea. A piece of fruit is the final course. Music is played in the air conditioned atmosphere.

Cons: Limited choice of set menu
