Unless you are coming here to get fruit or veggies as a farmers market stop, skip coming to try to get vegan dream whip. I come here frequently when in town and the employees just look at you when you ask which are vegan. Had this happen with 2 different people on 2 separate occasions this week. There are also signs mentioning to ask an employee if you specifically have an allergy but I don’t expect anyone to know, offer to check, or provide accurate info based on recent experience. If you’re coming here for an event, they do have fun family type events with music and vendors etc. Great fruit and vegetable options as well as jellies, salsas, pickles, and sauces with the typical levels of sugar and ingredients to be expected in the area. But no vegan ready made food options that I’d come here specifically for at this time. If they do offer it I hope management provides training.
Was able to find some local produce like tomatoes and a variety of local grown apples. Menu of “dream whip” desserts that feature DF/GL marked on a large chalkboard menu. Local baked bread and jams. Strawberry dream whip was good, had warm ciders and other choices as well.

Had a very nice experience here and loved eating the vegan dessert while my daughter played on the play ground and my dog sniffed around the river. Went home with a few choice pieces of produce as well. Easy stop when in Bryson and also nice at other times of the year, such as pumpkin season.
Went to Darnell Farms after reading the positive review on HappyCow and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The dole whip is extremely sweet and I wouldn’t recommend you watch the staff prepare it…after a long hot day outside they’re all sweaty and tired, and have no issue making your food while their sweat drips off of them into the dole whip mixture…on top of that, fruit and vegetables sat decaying off to the side covered in hundreds of fruit flies, regular flies, and bees. That being said, they did have some beautiful vegetables and fruit to buy, and lots of homemade canned jams, pickled veggies, and bags of fresh corn. Due to Covid, it all felt cramped and uncomfortable. If you don’t care about that stuff, then try it out.
My family really enjoyed stopping here on our way to Cherokee. We sat at a picnic table by the water eating dream whip. My kids enjoyed the swings and seesaw. We left with some jarred marmalade & some produce.
