Pricy Bland food

We had high expectations considering the price and location, but unfortunately the food for dinner was bland as well as the vegan cake. The matcha can be made vegan and is delicious though! Service was also not the best, they forgot one dish and one of the dishes was partially cold.

Gorgeous cafe/Restaurant

The staff were really accommodating to my wife’s nut allergy. They had a delicious vegan cheesecake and some good coffee too, with lovely alternative milks.

No longer many vegan options

We hoped to go to the Dark Sky Diner this evening but unfortunately they only have a starter that's suitable for vegans. We did double check with them in case the menu was mislabelled but they said they don't have anything else.

Pros: One vegan starter

Cons: Nothing else

Doesn't take a telescope to see that this place is cool

A cool diner with great views of Lake Tekapo, with a huge telescope looming over the tables. The pizza share plate can be veganized and vegan ice cream dessert with berries was awesome. I unfortunately was unable to have the advertised vegan main, the cannelloni, because they were out. Maximum sads, because it sounded great. Instead, they offered to make me a vegan version of the pasta of the week, which was appreciated (and genuinely pretty delicious).
