Good enough - Edit

Food was good and the prices were also reasonable. I ordered a dish with a lot of rice, tofu, veggies, and sauce. The menu had separate vegetarian/vegan options. The left over was enough for another dinner! That makes it a cheap deal :P

Excluding the friendly guy who was serving me other staff members couldn't even pass a smile!

Pros: Good and cheap

Delicious - Edit

Dara Thai has a separate page for vegetarians and their noodle dishes specify if they are made with egg noodles. The service is good; I have eaten here many times and have always had positive experiences.

Pros: good value, good food, nice staff

Pretty dodgy, but the best thai in flag? - Edit

There's no way that any Thai people were involved in the preparation of Dara's food. The food tastes like it was prepared by mexican chefs who were taught how to make it by a chinese entrepreneur with no knowledge of thai cuisine.

A note for vegetarians/ vegans: the curries contain shrimp paste, and there's a good chance that fish sauce is in everything. The fish sauce I'm not sure about, but I guarantee the curries have shrimp paste in them.

Pros: Mia's lounge is next door

Cons: not thai

Good vegetarian menu - Edit

I was very happy to see that Dara Thai had its own separate vegetarian menu, and the host also informed us that anything on the regular menu could be adapted to be vegan. We got a wonton fried dumpling appetizer that was pretty good. I ordered the Teriyaki Tofu and my boyfriend got the Dara Tofu. They asked us how spicy we wanted the food which is nice because I like spicy but my boyfriend is a spice wimp. The teriyaki was very different than I expected - a very thin sauce that was SUPER salty, so salty I couldn't finish my meal. I loved the tofu, carrots, and snap peas in it though. My boyfriend's dish was better, a creamy coconut-based peanut sauce over tofu and potatoes, and it wasn't so salty. They gave us a hefty portion of rice to go with it. I found the price to be a bit high (nearly $30 before tip for two entrees and an appetizer). I would go again but might ask which dishes aren't going to be so salty!

Pros: Separate veg menu, Customizable entrees

Cons: Price, Too salty

yum - Edit

Many items on the vegetarian page of the menu are vegan, though if you ask the staff a specific question about items they often don't know. It would be easier if the menus were just clearly marked with what was vegan. This is not gourmet thai food, but their dishes are always satisfying and yummy. Try the dara tofu.
