Having become a bit tired of economical bee hoon recently (which they also do here), we’ve been coming to Dao more and more. The very friendly and polite Chef Kevin has a rotating special which are all very well flavoured, filling and inexpensive. Make sure to request your meal without egg if you are vegan!
Read moreWe can also echo what other reviews mention - don’t get here too late as otherwise some options will have run out. Between 12 and 12:30 is probably the cut off. We go to Dao more as a big breakfast/brunch place.
Also, if you are local and come often, you can ask Chef Kevin to add you to his WhatsApp alerts, so you can know each morning what the special is that day, and also when they might be unexpectedly closed.

Very delicious vegan food! - Edit
I happily eat there almost everyday as the food is so delicious and affordable. You can really tell that the owner loves cooking as the food is so well seasoned. It is way better than the other veg stalls nearby. Just let the owner know you do not eat eggs when ordering as some dishes contain egg. If nearby I highly recommend to try the food here.

Yummiest veg chicken rice - Edit
This place has delicious vegetarian chicken rice. Great portion, and affordable. It's easy to find, and to reach by bus as it's located right next to Parkway Parade. Although not near an MRT station, a trip there is worth it.

A favourite with the locals - Edit
A signboard displays the daily special, but if it's sold out (and it frequently will on the 1st and 15th of the lunar month, when many Buddhists go vegetarian) go for the selection of mixed dishes, served with rice or beehoon. Inexpensive and very tasty, but may be slightly difficult to find. Look for the food centre directly across the road from Marine Parade Police Post.
