Serves meat, vegan options available. Falafel wraps, salads, bowls, fries, and pitas. The lentil soup is vegan as are all the sauces (garlic, tahini, and hot). Vegan marked on the menu. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-9:00pm.
Closed Monday.
You can choose a bowl, pita, or plate, and then choose toppings for the falafel, most of which are vegan. All the vegan toppings and sauces are clearly labeled and the food was delicious. The portions were generous and neither of us were able to finish even though we loved the food!
This place used to be a 5* but it's just not what it used to be. Dimly lit, unclean countertops, cost cutting in all the ingredients. They don't seem to carry the vegan baklava anymore either.
My non-vegan husband and I order for carry out from this place often. We love the food and it works for both of us. An additional bonus is that the delicious French fries are not cross contaminated. For my favorite Vegan meal I order a Falafel salad or rice bowl with several vegan and gluten free add ins. If I am very hungry I will add on the delicious French fries. Otherwise, I will just have a few of my husband’s fries.
Great carryout, easy to order on grubhub, great service on phone and at pick up, good looking kitchen and dining area, affordable, delicious vegan falafel wrap, falafel bowl, rice, baba ghanoush, dips, sauces, soup, and a vegan option of baklava
Quick tip: say no fries dipping sauce
My sisters and I just had lunch today at Damascus Falafel for the first time. I am a vegan, and my sisters are not, so, I chose this place as a happy balance, and all three of us could not have been happier! I had the falafel bowl, and these were truly the best falafels I have ever tasted...and I have tasted quite a few both in the Chicago area, as well as the DC area. One of my sisters is gluten-intolerant, and the helpful servers knew exactly what had gluten. ALL the food was great, and both my sisters are not that familiar with Middle East dishes, so this was even better! Unfortunately, I live about 30 minutes from the place, and even though they are connected to Uber Eats, I don't think I would be able to have the food delivered to me.😒 One word of warning when it comes to putting the address of the place in Google Maps - don't. Look up "Damascus Falafel" itself to get the correct address. They are located just off Kingery Highway 83 and 91st Street. I would have rated it 5 stars, but, 5 star ratings are only for full vegan restaurants.
Literally the best Falafel wrap I've ever eaten. The freshness of all of the ingredients/toppings/salads really sets them apart from many other Falafel spots. Awesome service as well. 10/10 would recommend!
I was so pleased to find this restaurant. I was traveling with co-workers and everyone was able to find something to suit their tastes. The vegan options are easy to identify and the staff were helpful too. They even had a vegan dessert option.
