Really amazing service, the staff is all so kind. We told them when we arrived that we were vegan and they were super accommodating. The bring you a free starter and specifically made ours vegan and it was amazing, accompanied by free shots. We ordered the vegetable soup which was interesting but delicious, along with the truffle gnocchi and Mediterranean gnocchi. Neither of these were great but ok nonetheless. They brought us more free drinks as we were heading out. Pleasant experience overall!

I paid 43 euros for 3 slices of seitan with some sauce and one baked potato. Sure, Hvar is outrageously expensive but charging the same price for seitan as for a prime cut of steak is really not ok.

Read moreAs I read about the vegan options not being shown on the menu I asked about the reason and the really attentive and friendly waiter said they do not display them as they are primarily a steak and fish house and it seems contradictory to them but they still want to cater to all guests and so it is possible that they will decide to show vegan options on the menu in the future, especially as they do offer them anyway.
The vegan options are very creative and you could easily do fine dining with their vegan options e.g smoked tofu Parmesan and seitan steak. Yes prices are high but I believe apart from the outstanding service and food, with the greeting from the kitchen and liquor you get as a gift they are absolutely reasonable.
Little hint: try to speak some basic Croatian, the waiters will be so happy about it and compliment you heartily😄

The menu is misleading as once they know you are vegan they take time and care to bring you through the many vegan alternatives which incl a seiten steak not on the menu. Any little extra amuse bouche given had a vegan alternative. Even the Parmesan for the gnocchi had a vegan alternative.

The attention to detail in this place is incredible. It’s such a shame they don’t advertise their vegan offering cause the food is incredible and I bet it’s put other vegans off just looking at their menu, I only knew of this place because of HappyCow. They offer two types of vegan gnocchi (tomato or truffle), a seitan steak in place of regular steak (i think there was a couple of options for this too - a spicy peppercorn one or truffle one), for starters there is a vegan vegetable soup or they can modify the courgette dish to have smoked tofu cheese rather than feta, similarly with the salad. They also brought out complimentary shots (including a non alcoholic one for the kiddos) at the start and end of your meal, and a complimentary starter which was like a cheesy polenta dish using the smoked tofu. It was expensive even for Hvar but it’s a great dining experience. Good knowledge of wines too. All in all a great experience

They could have a vegan menu their food is so good. We ignored it as looks so meaty and then found it via Happy Cow. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful and very ready to offer us a three course vegan feast. Perfection.

I had the vegan version of truffle gnocchi and really enjoyed it. We also had a salad and they replaced the cheese with smoked tofu. The smoked tofu could be seasoned better but overall great experience. They also provided aperitif carob drink and drink after food as well as polenta that where they added smoked tofu instead of Parmesan. I recommend this place in Hvar!

This place is exceptional for vegan options. I know it seems daunting to go because there are no vegan options listed on the menu but the waiters are super knowledgeable and the vegan options they present are incredible. I have a truffle pasta with vegan cream and vegan cheese.

Not on the menu, but they will happily do a Vegan Seitan Steak and chips either in a peppercorn sauce or wine and truffle sauce, it blew my mind! They also did us a Gnocchi with a creamy truffle sauce or could have done in a tomato sauce. Both seriously tasty, they put just as much effort into these dishes as they do into the rest of their meat and fish menu. Highly recommend. It was also excellent service and although not cheap, value for money.

We thoroughly enjoyed the vegetarian and vegan options. As mentioned in a previous review, all you have to do is ask and the waiter will describe the dishes with substitutes including vegan gnocchi, roasted tofu for salads, and seitan options for steak. They even added some avocado not listed on menu and the vegan cake was tasty too.

5 stars worthy. I came here with my friend who loves steak and fish. It was a perfect location to please the both of us. The food was incredible, so rich and flavoursome. We came back again the same day for dinner. I liked the little gifts (local speciality tasters). Highly highly recommend. Don’t miss this place! P.s the black truffle gnocchi was my favourite.

I had truffle gnocchi with smoked tofu grated on top instead of parmesan, a vegan seitan steak with mushrooms & a zucchini starter - they add delicious flavored tofu to dishes instead of cheese. Its so great to see a variety of vegan options available when I’m on holiday 💚

Überragender Service, Fachwissen vom Feinsten. Sobald man das Stichwort Vegan anmerkt, werden unzählige Vegane Variaten vorgestellt. Statt Steak gibt’s Satan, statt Käse gibt es Tofu-Käse, mediterranes Gemüse und Vegane Gnocchi. Absolut empfehlenswert! Dort weiß sofort jeder Kellner bescheid!

By far the best service we've had in Croatia. The host and our waiter were very knowledgeable about what's vegan and what can be made vegan, and the waiter spent 10 minutes with us going through the options.

I wish I could give 5 stars. The food was delicious, the service outstanding. Everyone was really knowledgeable about vegan options. The options are not listed but they will explain it to you. We had the zucchini carpaccio, gnocchi in black truffle sauce, seitan steak with white wine black truffle sauce (Normally I don't like seitan, but this one was amazing, very well executed), and grandma's cake with chocolate sorbet. They also have vegan cocktails (aquafaba instead of egg whites)

Best vegan meal I’ve had in ages - Edit
I was really struggling in Hvar as a vegan, but I came here and was honestly so impressed, SO MANY vegan options, all steaks could be swapped out for seitan, and there were multiple other dishes that could be swapped for vegan substitutes (including the most incredible vegan creamy truffle sauce on gnocchi). The options aren’t on the menu, but if you ask the waiters they are immediately very knowledgeable and helpful, as well as super kind. There was even a special vegan cake for dessert. Couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough! Better than most vegan meals I’ve had in the UK!

I second all the reviews below. The gastronomic experience here was amazing! An explosion of flavours. First, carob fruit with carob liquor. Appetizers with the zucchini carpaccio, and the homemade garlic bread were amazing. Main dishes were the Gnocchi 🤌 with truffle sauce, and the seitan 🤘😈 steaks with mushroom sauce (you can choose between 3 different sauces: mushroom, truffle, and spicy). Dessert was chocolate cake (sooo good!), and chocolate sorbet. Free rose liquor to finish. The waiters are pampering you all the time. All of them speak different languages, and know some different cultures. This is very nice! We just waited for 30 minutes to pay, and again, they gave us for the third time a free shot of something LOL. I highly recommend!

The restaurant has many vegan options, including starters, salads and mains. However, I suggest asking the waiter because they aren’t all listed on the menu. Furthermore the staff are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Espresso martini’s are also very recommendable ;)

The service was amazing and so was the food. We ordered the seitan steak and gnocchi pasta, and both were very good. Our favorite was the seitan steak. It has a beautiful texture and the wine sauce was sublime.

Here, the options aren’t marked on the menu but the staff are very knowledgeable about what you can have, it’s limited but that’s as good as you can expect here. I had the gnocchi which was ok, my husband had the soup which was nice. They brought out some garlic bread to start with and gave us shots at the end of the meal. Lovely staff, great location, food ok.
