I had a rice bowl with Hoax(tofu) and Jerk(soy), the bowl had a broccoli slaw that was light and no oils. They also have an ice cream shop attached, I had the mango ginger snap, that was delicious 😋

Great local vegan restaurant with Jamaican flair - Edit
Currently visiting area for local festivals and did a search for great vegan locations near bye. Dajen did not disappoint. Great food with fabulous flavor. Ordered the Cauliflower bowl with cornbread. Macaroni salad is also a must. Husband tried crispy chicken and cauliflower, which quickly disappeared. A must stop for great local food.

Amazing find! - Edit
Stopped by here as it was close to our friend’s house when we came to visit. I got takeout here twice in less than 24 hours because it was so good. First time, I got the identity crisis sandwich; it was a huge amount of food but I managed to ingest it all with a break. I slightly preferred the jerk side so next time I think I’ll just get the jerk sandwich—only reason being the chicken side was a little too chickeny (I’m a vegan who can be a little creeped out by realistic imitation meats; this is probably not a negative for most people lol). I got the cheesecake stuffed toast the next day, and talked to the owner a bit! She was so hospitable. The food was amazing and both times I ordered it, a whole room full of non-vegan friends wanted to try it. We will be back when we’re in the area!

Birthday Brunch - Edit
Dishes ordered: Identity Crisis Sammich, cheesecake french toast w/ side of fried chicken (only available on the weekends), and Hoaxtail build a bowl.
Read moreDrinks ordered: Ginger lemonade, blue mountain coffee
First off the portion sizes were huge.
The identity crisis sammich is half buffalo and half jerk chicken. The buffalo side was great not too spicy and very flavorful. The jerk side was more smoky then spicy but the grilled pineapple defintely saved this side of the sandwich. The coco bread was very thick and dense. Personally wasn't a fan of the bread, and it still wasn't able to hold the sandwich together. I would order the buffalo sammich alone next time instead of the jerk.
The cheesecake french toast was more vanilla then cheesecake. The cocobread for this purpose worked very well although not all of the bread soaked so some parts were dry. The dish was very sweet, but we got it with a side of fried chicken which help to balance that sweetness. Personally, wouldn't order again but if you really like sweets this would be your jam.
The hoaxtail build a bowl was delicious. The hoaxtail was well seasoned, and the texture was fantastic. The rice and peas was oddly pale, but the flavor was great. The cole slaw and grilled pineapple were perfect sides and defintely added some extra flare to the delicious. This was by far the best dish we ordered. This could also easily be split by two people. Personally would order again but really surprised it didn't come with fried plantains seems like a missed opportunity.
Ginger lemonade - very strong ginger and lemonade flavor, good as a digestive aid after eating then drinking during your meal.
Blue mountain coffee - really great flavor and super smooth. Defintely a must if you're a coffee lover.
I also received a free slice of cake which seemed like a basic vanilla cake with frosting but tasted great and I'm grateful for anything free.
The customer service wasn't that great. My parents and myself ate at the restaurant and had to go to the counter to place our order and pay before eating. We had to go back to the counter to get our food and bring it to our table. Our drinks were never brought to us, we had to go to the counter to remind them and then they were brought our table. We did leave a tip anyways because we received a free slice of cake and we wanted to support this vegan business.
However, in the future I will order take out only. I would recommend you do the same.
Pros: Delicious food, Huge Portions , Lots of seating
Cons: Customer Service , Pricing

Best Food Around - Edit
I was visiting from NJ and drove 30 minutes to find they were closed. But the owner was there, and she blessed me with some food anyway. Let me tell you, the food was amazing, and the host was awesome. Flavorful and colorful was the chicken to the macaroni salad to the plantin and breadfruit. You can't miss with this place. She opens early, so i might just come for more food tomorrow before i board my plane.

some of the best food i’ve ever had - Edit
you order at the counter, take a buzzer, and find a seat. the food was out fairly quickly, and i was impressed with pretty much everything i ate.
Read morei ordered a bowl with jerk chickn, cornbread, and jerk mac. the chicken was tasty and well/spiced, and both the presentation and flavor of the bowl was 10/10! (seriously, one of the most gorgeous plates of food i’ve ever consumed) the cornbread was tasty, and the jerk mac was perfectly spicy! i was surprised how much flavor could pack into that little bowl of mac.
to top it off, i ordered some red velvet cheesecake and pineapple upside down cake ice cream and was pleasantly surprised by both! i thought all the flavors that they had looked delicious and unique, and although i struggled to decide which to choose, i thought both were impressive. the red velvet cheesecake is a must-try, and the pineapple upside down cake had these perfect bits of pineapple that really completed the scoop!
Pros: packed with flavor, beautiful presentation, friendly service!

this place has so many 5 star ratings and there’s a reason for that! this is a true hole in the wall with no true signage outside the building. the staff is so sweet and the food is PHENOMENAL! and it’s really not that expensive for what you get. overall a true gem in the central florida vegan community

A Jamaican's review - Edit
I tried the hoax tail rice n peas bowl. It was pretty good (the grilled pineapple was delicious) but I wish it came with more oxtail/gravy! They only gave me 6 small pieces. Also the rice n peas could use a lil more seasoning but other than that I enjoyed my meal and will be back to try more items! 4.5/5⭐️

Our NEW Favourite place to eat in Florida 😍 - Edit
Deserves every single star ⭐️ really nice vibe, lovely staff, clean and the food was insane !!
Read more3 of us ate, one none Vegan and we all loved it. We had a jerk chickn sandwich, a bowl with jerk chickn & a bowl with jerk chickn and buffalo cauliflower. We also had some corn bread and some jerk mac and cheeze on the side.
The bowls all come with rainbow slaw. You can tell all the food is super fresh, the cornbread was perfect. So much flavour with every bite of everything we bought. Will one million percent be returning here on our next trip to Florida.
If you are thinking to try this place, this is your sign to go right now !! 👏
Oh PS we had a cinnamon swirl for dessert, forgot to take a picture but was really good, not sure if always available as was in the cabinet, we got the last one. Thinking this is the type of place that sells out of popular things early, 3 things on the main menu had ran out when we got there at 4.30pm.
Pros: Has dessert options , Big portions

Historical Location, special place, amazing food! - Edit
My daughter said it best: “this place is so good. The food tastes better than it looks: it looks amazing but it tastes AMAZING” 💚 I Loved everything about this: the food, the people, the reggae vibes, the Zora Neale Hurston mural on the wall with the quote. This town is so special for black history because, in the Jim Crow eta, it was one of the first incorporated all black towns and because Zora Neale Hurston (Literary Genius) grew up here. It’s worth it to come on a day when you can check out the Zora Neale Hurston museum or for the MLK parade. The food is really special and worth a trip alone. I had a salad with crispy Buffalo chicken and massaged collards and house dressing with all the toppings. My daughter had a more mild bowl with beans and rice and peas and broccoli slaw. Both were really fantastic with the grilled pineapple and all the sauces and flavors. We will definitely be back asap!

Don't dine in! - Edit
The food is really excellent. Just absolutely top notch! Must try! But they seem to have really bad ventilation, so the place was just smoky to the point that my and other people's eyes were itching and crying after 10 minutes in there. You could see how hazy the air was just looking towards the windows. Hopefully they can fix that. They also had a few tables outside.

Best vegan food I’ve ever had - Edit
The food itself was the best vegan food I’ve ever had. I had the tuna melt, hubby had the Buffalo chicken sandwich. We shared a chicken jerk biscuit, Mac and cheese and slice of corn bread with the kids. Met one of the owners who was super friendly (and from Canada like us!) and he gave my kids free ice cream. And omg the ice cream! Do yourself a favour and don’t get just one scoop, you’ll want more.

So Delicious! - Edit
This place is awesome! My husband and I went for a late lunch, and we tried a variety of foods - salad with 2 different proteins, sandwich, jerk mac and cheese, and cornbread. Everything was so delicious! It is all made to order and comes out hot and fresh. We also tried 2 different flavors of ice cream that were also delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a trip if you are in the Orlando area.

Deliciously 100% vegan - Edit
Delicious vegan dining, with a Jamaican flair! Very well seasoned, just right spiciness. Many of the dishes are fried, yet without telling greasy taste. Build your own bowls, awesome. Start with a base of rice and beans, broccoli slaw, chose from a number of protein tippings: various cauliflower chickns, seitan mock meats, sauces. Tasty sammiches, burgers, sides, cornbread. Cool, creamy oat milk based ice creams are a must. Made to order smoothies also. Expect a short wait as most dishes cooked to order.

Good sized portions, moderate prices.
Clean, compact indoor dining with some out door seating. Free WiFi. Free parking. Conveniently located just off I-4 northeast of Orlando, in historic Eatonville, FL.
Reopened 2/26/2022 after expansion renovations, doubling the indoor space! Still 100% vegan goodness, and a different set of non vegans raved about how fantastic the food tastes.
Butter pecan oat milk ice cream awesome.
Very busy reopening day; unfortunately, they sold out of everything before closing.

Drove all the way there only to find a little sign that I could barely read saying they are on vacation. This was such a major inconvenience seeing that im not from here and have limited time to waste and I most certainly didn't want to be driving around aimlessly. The website says open and even here on happy cow. Now I have to go driving again to find another spot to eat.

Great concept, but not the best food - Edit
We wanted to love this place and drove out of our way to eat here on our way to Orlando. The food was cold and cauliflower was barely cooked (breading still raw), the jerk chicken was cold as well as the rice. The brown stew was delicious, but the buffalo cauliflower was so excessively spicy that I was sweating after eating it. The staff was not friendly, in fact they were just plain rude. From the reviews we read online and the vibe we got from the owner's posts it sounded like a great place with good vibes, but this is not the case from our experience.
