Excellent Vegan Ramen

This ramen is absolutely delicious and never disappoints. I give it a solid 10 out of 10.

Pros: The ramen always arrives quickly

Two vegan options -- good but not exceptional ramen

Be sure to ask for the vegan noodles with the veggie ramen. I didn't get the 'flavor bomb' add-on and perhaps should have. Good experience. I'll try again.

Pros: Mushrooms in the ramen , Vegan spring rolls were good

Cons: Didn't see a tofu add-on for the ramen

Bland ramen toppings

There are veggie spring rolls and one vegan ramen option. The spring rolls were good but the veggies in the ramen were super bland and tasted like they were thrown on top. The broth, however, was delicious. Leftovers were great because the veggies could marinate in the broth.

Creamy, flavorful ramen - one of the best in town

The downside is no vegan protein, but Daikaya's vegan ramen is very flavorful. I always get the spice bomb with it. Worth the wait!

Authentic Japanese food

A lot of Japanese places in town are heavily Americanized - Daikaya is not, particularly upstairs in the izakaya. On the website they have a PDF that marks up the whole menu showing what is not veg friendly, what is vegetarian friendly, and what is vegan friendly (and how you might need to modify). It makes it a lot easier to order when you get there when you're not puzzling over the full list. (I am not sure if this menu is available in person.)

That said, this place is expensive. I love the grilled shishito, but it's almost $10 for some peppers. If you're ordering multiple small plates (which is what izakayas are for! try all the things!) it's going to be an expensive date night.

The ramen downstairs is good, but I wish they would use vegetarian menma. Bamboo shoots are tasty, and you have the veggie stock for the ramen, why make it meaty?

Note that they now automatically add a service charge both upstairs and downstairs.

Only 1 option, but very tasty

We stopped in mid-afternoon and ordered the vegan ramen with added corn. It was very delicious with a good amount and balance of vegetables.

Pros: Tasty ramen, Quick service

Cons: A bit noisy, Only one option

Delicious!

Had delicious vegan ramen. Only once option, but the veggies were so perfectly Smokey. Also if you love mushrooms, you will like this ramen. Got the spice bomb on the side. It was also crowded inside, so I sat outside! Thankfully they had a nice umbrella for shade.

Pros: Flavorful food, Outdoor seating

Cons: Only one option

Great food!

They have one vegan option for ramen and it was delicious! The restaurant was pretty crowded so I would make a reservation. Service was excellent.

Pros: Delicious ramen

Cons: Only one option, Crowded
