Good buffet - Edit

Lunch buffet costs €7,50 and included a creamy vegetable soup, juice shots, slaws, green salad, lentil salad, hummus and bread, sesame-seed-coated tofu wedges, skewered Brussels sprouts and cherry tomatoes, rice, bean-seitan chili, roasted vegetables, polenta rounds and one non-vegan item. Most things were vegan, including the soup. You can go back and fill your plate as much as you want. Can order drinks (beer, wine, sangria), juices, etc., and dessert, some of which are vegan. I took away a piece of açai-banana pie and a seitan-spinach pot pie (both vegan, of course). I plan to go again. Lunch buffet runs 12 noon to 3:30pm; dinner is from 7 pm.

Pros: lots of vegan dishes, including the soup, can go back to the buffet for more, menu available also, besides the buffet

Cons: not all vegan

Vegetarian with Vegan option - Edit

I had dinner there and on that day 2 out of the 3 dishes were vegan (tofu moqueca and seitan "steak" with baked potatoes). Both were really tasty.
Also there is a selection of salads and entrees and most of them are vegan, which is nice.

The place is really cute and cozy. I would go back for sure.

Pros: Vegan options, Tasty food, location

Cons: not being fully vegan

Buffet in the centre of Porto - Edit

This bright and modern vegetarian place in the touristic centre of Porto offers a great buffet for only 9,90 €. There’s a huge variety of different dishes. At least for some dishes they have signs with the ingredients, but no clear signage which dishes are vegan, so I asked and was happy to find out that the majority is vegan.

They struggle with the usual problems of buffets and why I normally avoid buffets: The majority of food was only lukewarm, and the rice and the pasta dish weren’t really fresh anymore…
Still, this is good value and there was enough food that I truly enjoyed. The soup was great, the salads fresh, they had yummy fruit shots and a very tasty curry.

Drinks and desserts cost extra but are worth the money. We liked both the fresh juices and the delicious vegan chocolate cake!

They are open every day, at lunchtime and in the evening – that’s why we went here twice, with very little other options on Sundays…
Da Terra seems to be very popular among locals, too!

Pros: Good value for money, Central location, Opening times

Cons: Some food is only lukewarm

Great Vegetarian Buffet In Center of Porto - Edit

I ate at Da Terra following a long morning touring around the city and I was very satisfied with the lunch buffet. There were several cold salads as well as an amazing soup, a couple of warm protein dishes, and a couple of other side dishes. I especially enjoyed the vegan adaptation of the fried codfish dish that is seen in every other restaurant in the city. The vast majority of the dishes were vegan (at least on the day that I visited). The price was very reasonable for an all you can eat buffet. I highly recommend this restaurant for any tourists traveling in Porto (especially when it is so difficult to find vegan or vegetarian food options in Portugal).

Pros: Food, Location, Price

Cons: Busy

veg buffet in the city center - Edit

We have been there two times already on our current trip to Porto. As we were really satisfied after the first time we actually ended up a second time in this nice vegetarian restaurant because of its convenient location. If you are strolling around in the city center, this might be one of the best choices in the area. The first time we went there we were lucky and the majority of the food was vegan. Unfortunately, the second time we weren't that lucky and didn't consider asking for the vegan dishes beforehand. So we were a little bit disappointed in the end, as the vegan choices were limited. However, the quality is good despite the buffet style and it's also cheap. (€7,50 for the buffet excl. drinks and desserts) They serve soups, salads, fresh fruits and vegetables, fruit shots, pasta, seitan, cooked beans and vegetables, focaccia and many more. We really enjoyed the fruit shots, their freshly baked focaccia and the vegetable spreads. We also had a delicious vegan chocolate cake. The interior design is modern, clean and luminous. It seems to be pretty popular as it was quite crowded both times.

Tasty buffet - Edit

We were pleasantly surprised by da Terra buffet lunch. The quality of served food was high and we could try various delicious dishes. The staff could be nicer, but it was great gastronomic experience.

Pros: great food, various dishes, location

Cons: water not included, staff, noisy

Fairly good vegetarian buffet - Edit

Yet another all-you-can-eat vegetarian buffet in Porto. I was here three times in a recent trip to this city, both for lunch and dinner. The food was excellent, however only 60% (approximately) of the dishes were vegan when I ate here, the rest using either dairy or eggs (or both). It seems very popular since it can get really, really busy between 13:00-13:30, with long queues waiting to (re)fill the plates. Service can be slow then and finding a free table can be very complicated. Despite the good food, I didn't get the best impression of it.

Pros: excellent food, central location in Porto old town

Cons: really busy at lunch, overwhelmed service in peak hours

forgettable food and sloppy service - Edit

Food was bland & boring

Staff were not forthcoming / smiley / friendly or welcoming. Took forever to get any information or help from them. Bought a take out box, but they insisted on giving us metal currently that needed returning (they had no plastic cutlery) - what is the point? We ended up eating inside and rushing to leave because the overall experience was not enjoyable.

Cosmopolitan and friendly! - Edit

Hurrah for such an awesome veggie chain! Super friendly and helpful service in a large, airy dining room. The buffet selection is excellent and great value. Also a good range of desserts, served with care and attention to detail. Most options are vegan.

delicious and cheap! - Edit

Wow this food was amazing for a buffet! Very varied, they kept refilling with new things etc. You can take as often as you want and in the evening you pay only 9.90 euros/person (for the buffet excl drinks or dessert); ridiculously cheap for such tasty food!
My boyfriend is non veggi and totally loved the food as well, even went 3 times.
He likes this resto the best out of all Portugese resto's he had eaten at before (that were non veggi).
10/10!
They also have great pies as dessert and fresh juices.
Go before 8pm because then it gets crowded quickly. The place is quite big and feels spacious, also very close to the railway station so great location.

Stylish On and Off the Plate - Edit

Da Terra is a modern, sleek looking vegetarian restaurant with a strong sense of style, which is reflected in the food. We visited here for dinner and were made to feel very welcome by the staff who explained the buffet service and what dishes were on offer. We were impressed by the range of dishes and got more of a surprise with some of their flavour combinations as they were imaginative and got our taste buds tingling. All the food was freshly prepared and we were able to help ourselves to as much as we wanted, it was hard not to go back for thirds. The restaurant has plenty of seating and some quiet corners too, so it should keep everyone happy.

Pros: Excellent Food

Cosmopolitan and lively - Edit

Every time me and my wife visit Porto we look up the new vegetarian restaurants that seem to be popping up everywhere in Porto and Matosinhos! We promptly singled out daTerra as one of the new restaurants to try out because of the excellent location very near São Bento metro and train stations.

On Saturday night I walked past the restaurant three times before and after participating in the MEO Urban Trail and daTerra had a very warm and inviting atmosphere, and was always almost full of very lively people.

I think these were the things I enjoyed the most when we finally had lunch at daTerra the following day. The restaurant has a very agreeable decoration and atmosphere that matches the cosmopolitan nature of the city and of the many tourists that gathered there to have a replenishing meal.

The food itself was varied and well presented but did not stand out greatly from other vegetarian buffets that we have tried. Everything was quite tasty, though, and the staff was professional in an inconspicuous but friendly way.

At the end of the day, daTerra reminded me and my wife how easy it is to have very pleasant meals in the northern region of Portugal, even if we're vegan!

Disappointing - Edit

Although the all-you-can-eat buffet with a very good looking presentation, and the fact that the first restaurant (in Matosinhos) is quite good (I gave 4 stars near the 5), this new one in Porto left me very disappointed.
The price is good / reasonable to portuguese standard prices (even so it's one of the best prices / quality in the vegetarian restaurants market in portugal), waiters and waiteress were not very focus on they're job. The food was really not that great, I have the sensation this restaurant is more focused in finger food compared to the three courses menu in Matosinhos, so, only a part of the food was good for me. The spring rolls or paper crepes in the end were awful and weren't even well attached. I was expecting more, because I can cook much better at home and for that reason I got a lot of disapointed.
The place is new, a bit fancy / cliché. It has an open space, more information about the ingredients or the name of the food should be easier to get.
The lights (electricity general) went off twice while I was eating there. I even asked for a discount giving the bad experience but I got ignored.
Not a very good experience at all. I will not go back to the Porto restaurant. I won't give less than 3 stars because I try to believe that it was a bad day for them.

Pros: All-you-can-eat, Location-Porto downtown

Cons: Food standard, Technical problems Electricity, Waiteress

Amazing food for great price - Edit

We went to this restaurant and were AMAZED with quality and variety of food during lunch hours. Every single dish was delicious!

It's 7,5€ for all-you-can-eat buffet, and you pay extra for drinks and dessert. The place is brand new, clean, modern, location is great and staff is very friendly. Highly recommended to everyone.

We are definitely coming back!

Pros: location, price to quality, delicious
