Great Restaurant - Edit
I really enjoyed the food here. To get there, walk up the stairs and then take the elevator to the 2nd floor. The staff is very friendly and the menu is about a dozen pages.
Read moreThe restaurant is small and very casual, but clean. I tried two dishes and both were excellent. The sweet and sour "pork" was tasty and had good texture. Most meat substitutes are soy based. The second dish, a fried spaghetti with black pepper and "chicken" was fantastic. I would get this again and I will try and go back here on my next trip.
Pros: Friendly staff, Big menu, Great food
Cons: none

Nice "auntie" staff - Edit
Environment: Noisy (there's nice zen Chinese music but the kitchen cooking sounds and customers chattering are too loud to enjoy) , traditional, comfortable
Read moreFood: Dishes are not marked vegan or whether it has dairy. The watermelon soup and rice I ordered had too much msg or seasoning in it. I didn't feel well after. All the quick-meal lunch dishes are with some form of mock meat. Mine had seafood so I just left them aside.
Service: Polite and friendly. Waited almost 20mins for the soup.
Price: Medium
Pros: More crowded at 12. Better after 1pm
Cons: No barriers at the table (covid rules)

Basic, but good - Edit
Most of the food is vegan. It is basic, but good for reasonable price. Fair portions, too. The restaurant is located in a building opposite to a park entrance.

Mid level restaurant - Edit
I will probably reconfirm whatever the others wrote previously in their comments - I’ve decided to try it since it was close to my hotel and the overall reviews here.
Read moreLook up closely the street view on google maps at least to get an idea where it is. There is no sign except the one inside at the elevator.
When I came and said I had no reservation I got the impression I wouldn’t get a table since the reaction was kinda of questioning. I got to have a table in an empty restaurant where only three tables were taken. Anyways ...
English is limited to the words used in the menu. It would be helpful if they could learn a bit because I was finger pointing and using basic words to form my question. No biggie for me, but for some it might be frustrating.
I wouldn’t describe the place Cousy or authentic, but more basic and nothing more to it. I was thinking that guest will come later on, but during my dinner there nobody came.
For the price I expected a bit more. It’s not genuinely delicious and amazing but rather simple, that’s my experience.
Oh yea and as one comment mentioned - tea is given at the beginning, but extra in the bill at the end. Quite unfriendly gesture I would say.
Overall - go try it, just to have a different dinner night but don’t set up high expectations.
Pros: Central in Kowloon
Cons: Tea served costs extra , Hard to find , Service to be improved. English is not good.

Good food but expensive - Edit
The food was really yum and the portions are huge. I shared with my sister so we got two dishes but it was way too much. It was a bit expensive and they have a lot of additional charges for example the tea etc which they give you and you assume is complimentary
Read moreThey mark on the menu what has egg and dairy in the dish which is super helpful but I asked if a dish had gluten and they had no idea what I was asking

Big portions - Edit
They always have huge portions and bring some nice starters (one time I went we were given spiced beaten cucumbers and another - small salad), and everything I tried there was pretty good. Prices are average for Hong Kong and portions are bigger than in most places. I visited in time where they had little visitors and the food was prepared very quickly

Great Food. Lots of vegan options. Menu is in English and well labeled. Portion size is large, be prepared to take some home for later. Service was quick. Busy at lunch time because the food is so tasty.

Delicious food! - Edit
Very reasonable prices - we paid $90 each - we shared a fried rice, a taro 'fish' and an aubergine & tofu claypot between three. They also gave us free soup and sesame pudding! They were very happy to remove egg from the fried rice, and clearly marked milk and egg on the menu so I could avoid those dishes.
Read moreThe location was very no frills but was cosy. The menu was huge and it took a long time to narrow down our choices!
Overall I'd recommend this restaurant very highly.

Good food - Edit
The place is easy to find if you take note of the address properly. Each of the mains are an average of $60-70HK, unless you go between 1400 & 1900 for a set lunch menu where nothing is over $42. Tasty tasty food and good service. Large English translated menu and easy to distinguish vegan meals. Not much more you can ask for really.

Best value - Edit
Amazing food for a very reasonable price. A soup and main dish with tea cost only HKD $48. This was enough food to be full until the end of the day. I would definitely recommend this place.

Very tasty food at reasonable prices. Many vegan choices, friendly staff, authentic armosphere, no fancy place. We also took our non-vegan family there, they loved it, too.

Friendly and Fantastic - Edit
Traditionally decorated with warm, English speaking, friendly service and a rather extensive menu (also available in English). I opted for the set menu including vegetable soup and one of the best noodle dishes I've ever had all for a very reasonable price. Would happily return.

The place is not fancy but pleasant. Food is served fast and tasty. The waiter was very helpful (since the norm is Cantonese as all the menu is , no worries they will bring you a long menu in English).

Good - Edit
Tasty food, asked waiter if the fried rice contained egg, I was told not. Then the dish arrived with egg. They helped me to cook it again without egg. Tip: If you order two dishes for sharing between 2 people don't choose fried rice as the portion of the other dishes have a lot of rice in it!

tasty, cheap, calm - Edit
Calm, tasty and down to earth place with an excellent selection for vegans and vegetarians. Dim sum, fried and steamed local food. some meat and fish options avaliable but mainly veggies. Went there 5 times over the course of two weeks and was never disappointed. And prices are good, especially for the lunch menu. simple interior but a nice view of the beautiful trees in Kowloon park. A personal favourite in Hong Kong.

Cute Fei, Hong Kong - Edit
I've been here I think on 3 occasions for group visits. I struggle to have faith in management re the service here. To try to calmly demonstrate my point...
Read moreOn my most recent visit an order was made for the group. Our native Canto speaker liaised with the restaurant representative. Included in this was the request that we have no mock meat throughout the event. This seemed to go reasonably well and ordered a couple of extra dishes. One of them (fried rice) came with mock meat.
Similarly in the past when we order all vegan, we have queried one of the dishes and sure enough it had to go back to the kitchen since milk had been added.
I struggle to have any genuine confidence that they are able to understand anything other than bashing out their standard meals.
If the situation re the above happens to change I of course would be delighted to amend my review. There's other places nearby though that appear better options especially if you are vegan.
Cons: Difficult to have faith in staff

Great if you don't mind pork-substitute - Edit
Cozy restaurant, friendly staff. Not easy for us to understand what everything was, but happy enough with the results. My husband doesn't like the pork-substitute, which is used in many of the dishes. I don't mind it, so I was more pleased with the meal than he was. We had lots of leftovers since eat dish is large.

local restaurant, no tourists, good food, cheap! - Edit
We were staying at the Chungking Mansion and from there is a very short walk. Due to the fact that they have set menus for lunch (huge portion, cheap, fast service) we ended up having our brunch at the Cute Fei every day. Full of regular people on their lunch break, no tourist and almost no english spoken. A real buddist restaurant in town. We loved it.

Unfair - Edit
Not good quality food, bad place sems old and dirty, especially the kitchen . We ordered the congee but was too liquid and dumpling but was wanton. They charged 10% service and 6 $ each for hot water and 5 $ each for using the dish where we ate. The place is not good value for money.

Cute Fei - Cute Place - Edit
I am happy to see "Cute Fei" listed on HappyCow.
Read moreBusy well established restaurant - directly overlooking the very wonderful & very green Kowloon Park.
Turn into Haiphong Rd. from Nathan Rd. (you pass a very clean & popular juice bar which I have used for 25+ years) start walking down Haiphong Rd. - the building numbering is good - "Cute Fei" is on your left side approx; 2/3 of the way down - the entrance / access is shared - it is in a commercial / office building - go up elevator or stairs to the first floor.
They have a large "Vegetarian" sign in their first floor windows overlooking the street.
Fine Chinese Buddhist Veg cuisine.
A family run business.
Some English spoken.
Usually very full of family groups celebrating birthdays, celebrating other anniversaries, or just simply boosting their "good luck" by eating veggie for a day.
Crazily busy on the 2 "Lunar" veggie days each month - best to book on those days.
Portions tend to be very large so it is best to visit in a group & share menu items.
If you are not with a Cantonese speaker be careful when ordering if you are a strict vegan.
Enjoy & write your Review ! ! !

Overcharged - Edit
We arrived late in the evening and notified we couldn't order from most of the menu. We were offered a few dishes, which when they came out seemed like cold leftovers. We were not notified of the price and due to the dishes and size assumed it would be cheap. When we received the bill we were shocked, as we were basically charged for full meals when all we got was a cold snack. I would not go there again.

Good service but bland food - Edit
We stumbled across this place while walking and found it a bit tricky to find from the street signage - you need to go up some stairs, turn right and then go up in an elevator. The service was friendly and helpful. The waitress spoke quite good English and offered us (as Westerners) cutlery and cold water. The menu was a bit unclear. Only some items had pictures and others seemed to be repeated several times. I had the 'special roll' which was a creamy mushroom filling in a deep-friend tofu shell, and my sister had vegetables and rice. We both found our meals quite bland - my sister's was mainly just steamed green vegetables with no flavouring or sauce. Mine was also quite rich and just tasted of batter.
