Not bad in a vegan wasteland - Edit

This little Indian restaurant was pretty good. While not my favorite Indian restaurant, it fit the bill as there were almost no other vegan options in the area. The staff told me right away which vegetable dishes were vegan. I had the Aloo Gobi which was good but a bit greasy for my taste. Wouldn't mind going back if we are in the area again.

Pros: best option in vegan wasteland, helpful staff

Cons: bit greasy

Good food - Edit

Staff was educated on veganism. Great food for a good price. Buffet. No booze. Was super hot. One of the few places to get proper vegan food at the falls. Will come back on next visit.

Pros: good food, vegan friendly, clean

Cons: no booze, hot, no a/c

Next Time I'll Pass - Edit

I was in the mood for Indian, so I thought I'd check out Curry Queen. On a Wednesday night the place was completely empty. I ordered gobi aloo and was pretty disappointed. It did not come with bread or rice, but the prices for an individual serving were too much in my opinion, so I stuck to just the aloo when the waiter said the portions were really large. While the portion size wasn't tiny, it was just enough to qualify as a dinner meal. The taste was kind of bland, even at medium spice. It really needed some rice. And, honestly, though the technical price wasn't high, I thought it was too much for the amount of food served. It wasn't the worst Indian food I've had, but I depont think I'll go back again.

Pros: Vegetarian options, Friendly staff, Short wait time

Cons: Taste of food, Serving portions, Value for the price

Pretty good - Edit

We had the vegetable samosa, pretty good, but the cilantro sauce it comes with has cow's milk in it, so vegans should avoid that. It also comes with a chutney, which is a good enough sauce to go with it. We also had channa masala, very good. We would get that again. Gobi Aloo which was ok, maybe the tomatoes just needed to be cooked longer and it needed some salt. Gravy to it seemed a little thin. The menu they gave us was different from the menu online. We had the first dish listed on the print menu which was some sort of vegetable paneer (we cannot remember the name of it), but we asked them to hold the paneer, since it is cheese. The waitstaff had a little difficulty understanding our desire for vegan food, expressing surprise that we didn't want milk (no, really?), butter (no butter), eggs (no eggs?). The naan had eggs in it, something I've never heard of. The rice had butter in it. The only starch available for vegans was the Roti, which was good and worked just fine with the other dishes. Overall a good enjoyable meal.

Cons: Dining area a bit small

Amazing Service, and incredible food - Edit

While on a family trip to Great Wolf Lodge we wanted to be sure that we could still enjoy vegan eating - through Happy Cow we stumbled on this GEM! we were there on a Friday afternoon since it was not busy there was no buffet - We let the owner know we are vegan and immediately he made us all fresh Vegan dishes, he even took the liberty of suggesting we try several different variations of the same dishes. the attention to service was amazing and the quality of the food completely different than anywhere we have visited (and we eat Indian at least twice a week...many different places)

Curry Queen stands apart from any other place we have been, the freshness of the ingredients is undeniable - this will definitely be the ONLY place we will visit when we return to Niagara Falls.

Pros: Great and personal service, Amazing Fresh and Delicious Food, Free Parking

Cons: Small, Not Identified on the main street

dinner buffet was good value and good food - Edit

First of all, it's not exactly where the map shows it is. Clifton Hill is the extension of Center St south of Victoria, and Curry Queen is actually on Oneida Lane just north (left as you come down the hill, right if you're coming up the hill) from Clifton Hill / Center St.

I hadn't had lunch, and was easing an early dinner, so I was hungry, and went for the buffet after verifying that there were several (5) vegetarian dishes plus a rice pilaf and naan, as well as salad and dessert stuff.

Some of the buffet dishes were a little on the spicy side, but none had a lasting "hot" effect on my tongue (like spicy Indian dishes at some other restaurants do). Among the buffet dishes, the daal was particularly delicious. The naan was very delicious, not at all the minimal generic Indian bread that it all too often is. The salad was just ok (but salads are not what Indian restaurants are known for after all). I filled myself up on the main dishes and didn't try any of the deserts.

The buffet at dinnertime was CAD$13.99, plus they added a $1.40 gratuity (as well as tax) to the bill, bringing it to CAD$17.21 total. (I saw no sign with buffet price and wasn't told up front, but then I didn't ask either.) It seems quite reasonable for an all-you-can eat buffet with plenty of vegetarian choices, and if you're hungry it's definitely going to be less expensive than the other vegetarian-friendly Indian restaurant a block up the hill.

I would go back again if I were in the area again.

Pros: good value buffet, many veg selections in buffet, great-tasting naan

Cons: buffet price not posted, shows up incorrectly on maping programs

delicious food - Edit

I recently visited this restaurant. I ordered some vegeterian dishes, channa masala, palak paneer and naan from menu. I found it really tasty and delicious. Good service and reasonable price.
