Very good food

Very delicious food. And a large range of vegan options on the menu. The place was also very nice.
A con would be the size of the portions - they are not too large.

Pros: Food , Stuff, Ambiance

Cons: Small portions

Enjoyable this time!

I do remember going to curry leaf a few times over the years and it being “okay”. But this time I really feel like the food was splendid! We had a good mix of curry to share, poppadom with a selection of chutneys and some other snacks. Plus it accepted us without a booking on a Saturday night which was a bonus!

Ok

Dosa wasn't crispy - maybe left over from the night before? Not particularly spicy, though the red chili sambar was sharp. Good beers (Abyss, Bestens, Long Man, Unbarred, Lucky Saint).

Pros: Clearly marked VG dishes, Location, Beer

Cons: Not spicy, Mediocre dosa

Lunch at the Curry Leaf Cafe

Great staff, good atmosphere. Lunch menu varied and reasonably priced. Shared a platter which was just enough.

Pros: Varied menu

Nice restaurant, good vegan options

Great food here, lots of vegan options clearly marked. I loved the vegan chicken drumstick starter, first time I've had a Peshawari naan in years too!

Cons: Wine expensive!

Mediocre

We ordered takeaway as we just wanted a quiet night in. The popadoms were lovely, fresh a new crunchy. We ordered 1) the Malabar vegetable curry - this tasted like a Thai green curry. Too much coconut for my taste. 2) Bengali vegetable labra - aubergine and vegetable. Taste was ok but the sweet potato wasn’t cooked. Tasted too much cloves. 3) the daal was delicious although I would add more chilli 4) The garlic and coriander naan was pretty hard and didn’t seem very fresh.

It was ok but I wouldn’t rush back.

Pros: Vegan options clearly labelled, Food was delivered super fast

Cons: Taste was OK, Not in any way spicy

I really wanted to love this place :(

I really wanted to love this place after reading a magnitude of glowing reviews. Sadly it didn't live up to my expectations and I came away still feeling hungry.

I enjoyed the decor, the staff were wonderful and the food was nice as a whole. However, it didn't warrant the money I paid or live up to expectation :(

Great find

Funky curry restaurant in the heart of Brighton. We visited as a vegan, omni and vegetarian child. The vegan thali’s were amazing and the staff were really knowledgable and helpful. More than half the menu is vegan and it is all clearly marked.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Friendly and knowledgeable staff
