A gem in El Chalten - Edit
We were so excited to find Tamara's all vegan restaurant in this little quiet town and ate here all 3 days we were here.
Read moreTamara makes everything from scratch and it shows in the quality and the taste of each dish we tried. The large pizza makes a great dinner for 2-3 people, and the lunch bags are a great way to bring healthy, energizing food with you on one of the local hikes.
Pros: High quality , Healthy, Friendly
Cons: Takes a bit of time because it's made from scratch

Hidden treasure - Edit
I was really surprised to find this amazing kitchen when I took a shortcut trough el chaltén. The food was amazing, the owner was nice and the environment was really cozy. It was also nice too be able too see with my own eyes when the food was made. Highly recommended!

Best Vegan Food in All of Patagonia - Edit
After travelling extensively throughout Patagonia for a month it was such a relief and surprise to stumble upon Tammy's new set up, Curcuma in El Chalten. The food is delicious, healthy and nutritious, with no processed foods used whatsoever. Delicious wraps and burgers, quinos bowls, budins, cookies, smoothies. A really good value deal being the take away lunches that she prepares, so you have lunch ready to go for the trails. Easily the best option in El Chalten, and in my opinion the best place i've encountered in all of Patagonia for vegan food. Curcuma is set in little cute house, that normally one would just walk by, but once you enter, you know you are in a good place. The chill ambience, loving vibrations and feelgood music convince you that your visiting a friend's place. But perhaps the best thing about Curcuma is not only the food that she prepares for you with love, but Tammy herself, one of the friendliest people i've met in my travels.

Healthy grab and go food - Edit
Cúrcuma is a kitchen space with a counter for ordering food to take away. Ideal if you want to pack a snack or lunch to eat on a hike or picnic or a dinner to take back to your lodging. Food style is healthy western basics. Being vegan, when looking for something nutritionally powerful in Chaltén to bring up to the mountain for lunch, this was by far the best choice. Really, you should bring some bars and nut butters from home if you can for some high-quality snacks as that kind of thing is typically hard to find in Argentina.
Read moreI believe there's only one woman running Cúrcuma right now (as of January '16) so the hours are limited to what she can handle -- closed Tuesdays and don't open until 11am. I suggest calling the day before if you'll be depending on getting a packed lunch there!
Pros: Healthy, Convenient packed lunches
Cons: Wish they were open earlier in mornnig
