Service is a bit hit and miss at De Grote Post. Sometimes swift. Sometimes loooooong wait.

Have visited twice beginning of 2023. Had the steak tartaar and the beet burger. Twice not really my cup of tea. And rather expensive.
Very friendly service though. Nice setting. Nice decor. And fully accessible (with accessible toilet).

Update Aug 2021 - It had been several years since I visited and was happy to see they now offer vegan dishes standardly on the menu (and labeled as such). And even a vegan dessert (panacota) Yeah!
There were also some suggestion written on a chalkboard, a veggie curry and noodles with tofu. We inquired whether they were vegan (no milk, no eggs?) and the waiter said they were, and we ordered those. A couple of minutes later he came back to inform us they contain fish sauce, so not vegan (and not veggie neither!).
So always good to double check!
So we ordered the pasta with cream sauce (18€), and the falafel (20€). Didn't have to wait long for our food. Swift service, also for the drinks.
Both nice dishes, the pasta was very spicy. The falafels were nice.
Original varied dishes. Nice to see some other vegan dishes offered than the 'burgers and sweet potato fries' which are becoming rather ubiquituous.
A bit on the expensive side, but I gues the location plays into this.
Nice interior. I remember when this was the post office and I stood in line to buy stamps ...
Bonus for being fully accessible (acces via entrance at the side - elevator) accessible toilet.

This is from a visit a couple of yrs ago, but since there is no other review...
There was at the time nothing standardly vegan available on the menu, but they were very accomodating and made no problem to go check with kitchen staff.
Quinoa salad was nice, although not so culinairy fancy.
Very nice interior. When it gets crowded it can be a long wait though.

Nice vegan options, not cheap - Edit
When visiting Oostende, we have had lunch over here on several occasions. While they had limited vegan options years back, they have a lot of choice now, and they do their best to be creative as well. This time I had the bataat with lentil curry and salad, and my partner had the beet burger with fries. Both were okay, but expensive for what you get (24 euro each). Especially the bataat dish, which had only a bit of lentil curry (I would call it a sauce instead of curry, and the spinach salad could have been more creative: add tomatoes, radishes and so on. The 'curry' / sauce was not plenty enough.
Read moreFor dessert I had the vegan chocolate mousse, which I have had before and like a lot. It's a bit of the harder type, but we like it. It's 8 euro, so not cheap either.
I had a 'fresh' grapefruit juice for 6 euro, which is not entirely fresh (made beforehand as it comes in a small bottle), and a pity that it has no fibers left, only juice.
Waiters and waitresses are professional and friendly.

The best in Ostend - Edit
The best place we visited in Ostend. It's so nice to find vegan options in such a great place. Starter dish dessert, you can eat entirely vegan here. The service is super professional, you feel welcome. This place is so cool, you won’t regret !

Several vegan options on the menu. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, location is nice. Had the vegan falafel which was good though not incredible considering the price (20€). Coffee is 3€. Overall good experience, but too expensive for me.

Weinig vegan, wel lekker + vegan wijn! - Edit
Standaard is er 1 iets vegan op het menu. Als je geluk hebt, zijn er meerdere opties. Ik ben er al verschillende keren geweest en telkens is het erg lekker. Daarnaast is er ook vegan wijn, het staat duidelijk aangegeven op het suggestiebord.

Plusieurs propositions vegan ou végétarien. On a très bien mangé. Nous sommes arrivés avec notre chien et tout de suite, ils sont allés chercher de l'eau. Serveuse très sympa. I've been there two days ago. It's a nice and stylish place with friendly service. I found two vegan dishes on the menu. Pasta with green vegetable and a vegan Pad Thai, so I decided for the Pad Thai. The portion was very small, almost only pasta (rice noodles), some vegetable and almost no spices at all - for 17 Euros. A little bottle of Ice Tea - 3,80 Euro and a very tasteless vegan Panna Cotta for 6 Euros. I wouldn't dine here again.

Limited vegan options - Edit
I don't know if they limited the menu because of corona, but there was only 1 vegan option (vegan pad thai) and 3 vegetarian options which could perhaps be made vegan. The veggie taco's tasted very good, but more vegan options would be great. They have a few homemade lemonades which I think is lovely.
