Great restaurant with excellent service

After our round trip, we spent a day in Johannesburg and stayed at an airport hotel. Unfortunately, finding vegan restaurants in the area was quite difficult, and everything was far away.

By chance, I came across Cuisine Afrique Fire Grill. The name didn’t suggest that they would have vegan options, but their menu included four vegan dishes (Meatball Pasta, two types of burgers, and a curry), along with other vegetarian options.

Even before we placed our order, the chef made sure that we would get exactly what we wanted. He repeatedly assured us that modifications were absolutely no problem and that he was happy to cook whatever we preferred. In the end, we stuck to the standard menu and ordered a Jalapeño Burger and the Chickpea Curry.

As a complimentary appetizer, we received a samosa filled with potatoes. After that, they brought us a scoop of strawberry sorbet—we would have preferred it after the main course, but it was a nice gesture, so of course, we didn’t complain.

Our main courses followed shortly after. Both were very tasty and generously portioned, even for hungry men. :)

The service was excellent. Both the waiter and the chef checked in with us multiple times to ensure we were happy with our meals. Truly outstanding service—I can’t emphasize that enough. We felt very comfortable.

One thing to mention: There are two large refrigerators displaying meat (steaks). However, this didn’t really bother us, as they are out of sight from most seating areas. If this is a concern, you could probably mention it when making a reservation. Speaking of which, reservations can be made easily online, though in our case, it wasn’t necessary since the restaurant was quite empty.

The outdoor seating is also very nice. Highly recommended!
