Really enjoyed the food here, however removed stars because the waitress was actively sick. We could hear her coughing and blowing her nose during dinner. I’m sure everything is fine other times, but hearing someone cough while serving your food is off putting.

Amazing to have a place like this in such a remote village - Edit
Really nice food, and such friendly staff. I had the lentil soup to start with and then the potato stew which was very good.

Excellent food with high quality ingredients and very friendly and accommodating staff. A real gift for vegans and vegetarians in the area. Very cozy atmosphere with sofas and board games where you can spend a relaxed afternoon or evening eating and drinking delicious things.

Glad to see vegan in Ollantaytambo, sad to see they offer eggs and dairy. - Edit
I wish they were fully vegan and hopefully someday the owner will eliminate dairy altogether! Great vegan options here if you're in Ollantaytambo. Short walk from the main archeological site and a bit more to the train station. The surrounding area and streets are beautiful.

Not to be missed in Ollantaytambo - Edit
Amazing vegan food—and nice vibe. I had the vegetable curry and “ponche vegetal”, which is like a hot horchata. Curry had a lot of variety of veggies, including wood ear mushrooms, which can be hard to find. Wish I had more time here in Ollantaytambo to try more things on their interesting menu. Highly recommended.

Amazing Spot in Aguas Calientes – Went Twice in Two Days! - Edit
We were in Aguas Calientes for two days, with one day before Machu Picchu and one after, and this restaurant was such a gem that we made sure to come back on our way out of town! It seems to be the only spot with such a strong focus on vegetarian and vegan options, which was a relief for us after searching around. Not only was the food outstanding, but the drinks were also on point, perfectly crafted and refreshing.
Read moreOn our first visit, we were blown away by the quality and creativity in the dishes. Everything we tried was bursting with flavor, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh and thoughtfully prepared. We enjoyed everything so much that we decided to return on our second day to try more of the menu, and honestly, it was just as good, if not better, the second time around!
The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff went above and beyond on both visits to make us feel welcome. Their genuine friendliness and knowledge about the menu really added to the experience, and they made great recommendations both times.
If you're in Aguas Calientes and want a delicious, healthy meal before or after your Machu Picchu trek, make this spot a must-visit. Great Peruvian dishes (which we stuck to) as well as pastas, pizza etc It’s a treat to find a place that serves such fresh, flavorful vegetarian/vegan food in town.
Most of the dishes were 100% vegan which was great. Highly recommend!
Pros: food taste and quality , staff is amazing, atmosphere was great

I had an amazing experience at Cuchara Llena. From the moment I walked in, the vibe of the place just captured me. You can really feel the local community’s presence, which makes it even more special. I ordered a vegan dish that surprised me with its fresh and well-combined flavors—every bite was a feast! Plus, the staff was super friendly and attentive, always ready to recommend the best on the menu. I’ll definitely be going back again and again. You can’t miss it! 🌱✨

Best option in Ollanta | with limitations - 4,5 🌟 - Edit
Probably best option in Ollantaytambo with some limitations.
Read moreFood is overall tasty and the owner very kind. Despite that it has way to less personal. If there are some guests it can take some time to order, get food and pay. That was the downside.
Food was overall delicious.

Nice food but slow service - Edit
The food was nice (though not mind blowing) with generous portions. The vibes were very relaxed. It took more than 30mins for us to get our drinks and an hour for our mains which was fine as weren’t in a rush. There were only two people working front and back of house and they were working so hard for the two tables that were occupied so I hope they get some more help soon!

Wow! So delicious! - Edit
I had the tacos and they were AMAZING! The best meal I have eaten in a long time. The staff are friendly and the food is incredible! 🤩 Safe to say I’ll be eating here every day for the next 2 weeks. The address has changed to Calle Horno 639, Ollantaytambo 08676. Follow the street numbers (not on your phone) to find it as google will lead you to a 100 metres away. Worth the walking to find it. 😊

this was a cute little place, and definitely nice to have access to veg options in a small town. it’s off the beaten path a little but easy to get to. vibes were nice. the indoor seating was minimal so i wouldn’t probably consider dining in, but that’s personal preference. service was very friendly! i had the carapulcra vegana and vegan snickers

Best restaurant in Ollantaytambo! - Edit
We went there / grabbed food from this place almost every day during our stay in Ollantaytambo. The food was delicious and very affordable. They offer a menu of the day for 20 soles which includes a starter (most of the times a soup), a drink and a main dish.
Read moreEverything was really tasty and the waiter was super friendly. My friend only wished that the portions were a bit bigger. We also had vegan postres (brownie and snickers). Though we both preferred the snickers.
The restaurant's atmosphere is very chill playing spiritual /calming music. Also the restaurant is almost fully vegan. Just for some rice dishes they ask you if you want to have egg in it. Apart from that everything was vegan!
Pros: Tasty, Affordable , Chill vibe and great music

So happy we stumbled upon this, we got take out and it was yummy! Pretty sure eveyhing can be made vegan without the egg or cheese and it was fun to try local dishes of the area. Our fav was the drew stew. The upstairs tiny patio has a nice view as well!

Not worth it - Edit
Im not sure if this is the same place as it was pre-covid, but we went two people and were thoroughly disappointed. We ordered a juice and tea to start. The juice arrived 50 minutes later. The tea never came.
Read moreThe food we had was basically brown rice with vegetables stir fried and drowning in bad cooking oil. The other dish was almost identical but equally saturated soya.
Our food came over an hour after we ordered and both of us feel kinda nauseas after eating.
The service however was nice and very friendly.
Perhaps the cook had a bad day. But seeing as the menu had 2 options which are basically the same, there is no recommendation from here.
Pros: Nice service, cozy location, outside seating
Cons: Bad quality food, long waiting time, expensive

The first thing that hits you about this place is its amazing location on the river, with a stunning view of the ruins. It also has a great atmosphere with swinging seats, a fire and pool table.

Didn't love my quinoa burger. The dish served was a bland salad of lettuce and tomato, not good fries, and two quinoa patties which had a weird texture. I was expecting a burger, you know, in a bun.

Best veg place in Ollantay - Edit
The place is beautiful. Nice and calm music playing in the background. I had the tarwi salad and it was on point. The Spaghetti Stroganoff were good but not perfect. The dessert of the day was also vegan and quite special. Can't remember what it was made from other than Yuca. For a veg place it's not too pricy either.
