Good food too long a wait - Edit
The vegan tofu ropa vieja was delicious, but the service was disappointing. We waited over an hour while others who arrived after us were served and finished. We mentioned we were in a hurry, but it didn’t seem to matter. Too bad—the food deserved better service.

Original Taste freshly made - Edit
Fresh ingredients, very good taste.
Read moreIt‘s a pretty place with good music and a lot of nice drinks. Staff is very friendly.
Though it’s located directly next to the main road, it‘s quiet cosy.
Pros: Ingredients , Great food

Horrible food - Edit
It’s nice that they had a vegan menu, but they didn’t have the ingredients to make the Havana Chinatown Pot. They asked to substitute a few items but the flavor was horrible and the dish was very greasy. It tasted like oily raw ginger and hoisin sauce.
Read moreThe Tofu Ropa Vieja was also very greasy. Nothing much to the dish.
The guacamole appetizer was more like green mayonnaise with cilantro.
The kids had “Pasta Alfredo” but it was just spaghetti with oil and grated cheese.
The Caipirinas were weak and didn’t taste authentic.

Pretty good - Edit
Not a bad option in the area. Tofu is flavorful and their rice and beans were good. Confused on how they served us guacamole spread and not real guac lol otherwise wasn’t bad. Will say I’m not sure how much they make in house. We went in a Saturday and were curious if the potato empanadas were vegan.. they couldn’t tell us and said they’d have to call the company that provides them but they couldn’t because it’s a Saturday? So confusing for anyone with an allergy but otherwise was pretty tasty.

Cubano Goodness! - Edit
This restaurant had many vegan options and we split the Tofu Ropa Veija which had wonderful seasoning, and black beans. And the grilled vegetables which were seasoned nicely. The mushrooms were mind blowing! They even had a vegan chocolate cake but we were full. Highly recommend.

Dissapointed - Edit
Was looking forward to try vegan cuban meals.. unfortunately it was disappointing. We had to wait a long time before we got the food (over 60 minutes) everybody who came in later got their food before we did. But, that can happen. But when we got the food, me and my non vegan family were all disappointed.

Vegan Cuban? Absolutely - Edit
I love the flavors of Cuban cooking, but it is so hard to find vegan. The plantain pizza medallions we're amazing and worth going back for. Really inexpensive during happy hour. We had the tofu Ropa Viejo and were pleasantly surprised. The portions were large and the flavor was really great.

Blast of flavor! - Edit
The plantain pizza and vegan tacos were sooooooo good!!! Highly recommend. Ask for the hot sauce if you want to add a kick (but it's super duper spicy). The vegan chocolate cake wasn't that great so maybe pass on that. There's a hagaan Daaz around the corner with plenty of sorbet options that is delicious if you want something sweet.

Flavor explosion - Edit
Came here for lunch with non vegan family. I was honestly so impressed by my Tofu ropa vieja. It came with tostones, tofu ropa vieja, rice and beans. Wow. I was craving flavor beyond the healthier simpler food I had eaten. Wow did Cuba’s Cookin hit the spot (as did the mojitos)
Read moreI found the portion size a bit small. The outdoor dining atmosphere was lovely. Service impeccable. Ask for the hot sauce!

Decent, filling food. - Edit
I’ve had the plantain pizza medallions and they were fine. Quite a small serve for the price you pay. I missed some more flavor in them, as well as with the tofu ropa vieja. The tofu tasted quite bland which is underwhelming. The tofu ropa vieja dish as a whole was filling due to the rice and beans, but I’d rather have the food be both filling and good at the same time.

We ate here a few times while in Aruba. It was nice that they have a separate menu section just for vegan entrees. The Tofu Ropa Vieja was really good. We also loooooved the Plantain Pizza Medallions. The Grilled Vegetable Platter was also very flavorful.

Ok Food. High Prices. Nice atmosphere. - Edit
I had the Cuban Chinatown hotpot - not at all what I expected since it wasn't in a broth, but that wasn't a big deal. The dish itself was just ok - high on carbs, not a ton of veggies. Flavor just ok; nothing special. One of my meat eating friends thought the same of his food. Another thought her's was very good. Nice live music. Food was very expensive, but that's probably because it is located downtown near the Renaissance.
