Lots of vegan options

Smalls and sides were nice, lots of the dishes can be vegan adapted. Tacos were slightly disappointing as there was only 1 option of spiced chickpea and it was quite plain.

Best Mexican food I've ever had

Came here on a whim on a Friday evening without a reservation, but the staff were able to squeeze us in for just about an hour.

Vegan options very clearly labeled on the menu, and unusually for me, I had to spend some time deciding what I would order as I actually had choices.

In the end, I went for the panko aubergine with candied jalapeños, and the confit chickpea tacos. Everything was seasoned perfectly and excellently flavoured. I wish I'd taken a photo of the aubergine, but I did get one of the tacos.

I had my eye on the chocolate mousse for dessert, but unfortunately we ran out of time.

I'll be coming back for sure!

Pros: Vegan options were different to the usual, Very tasty food! , Friendly and efficient service.

Cons: Not a fully vegan establishment.

I am the walrus

(Listen to the song to figure out why I chose that title.)
A boutique-y small Mexican restaurant that caters more towards the less "spicy" (i.e. hot) and more chef-y side of the market.
Not a huge capacity inside and coupled with huge demand mean you're going to have to book - best do that online as it shows you what slots are available.

Alternatively head for lunch on Saturday - we did and we were the only patrons. Apparently main difference is smaller portions at lunch (I'm guessing this, as a pal said they went in evening and portions were huge, which they were definitely not at lunch).

As for the food - tried cauliflower tacos - got 2 small ones (taco is small flour tortilla) - they were delicious. Very flavourful on sweet and savory side with perfectly sized and crunchy cauliflower that was tempura battered and seasoned. Tenderstem broccoli on side was again tempura battered and was exactly the perfect texture and firmness - none of the sogginess or squidegyness of poorer efforts. Chips and nachos similarly perfectly seasoned. Generous amount of guacamole came with nachos.

Speed of service was lightning fast, but again we were only ones in there at the time.
Definitely beats taqueria. But if it's volume and Mexican you are after, boojum still your best bet.

The popularity of this place speaks for itself, it's frequently bunged out and we have been rebuffed several times trying to call in. Rest assured plenty of vegan and vegetarian items.

Pros: Extremely well cooked

Cons: Tiny restaurant , Strong need to book online and ahead of time
