Un passo avanti ma...

Non avrei mai pensato di trovare un simbolo dello street food catanese (che conosco da quando sono nata) in versione vegana: questo posto ha la cartocciata ripiena di pomodoro e mozzarella vegana.
Impasto molto gradevole ma la farcitura lascia un po' a desiderare: il pomodoro è poco, mentre la vera cartocciata deve essere "succosa"; la mozzarella vegana non ha ragione di esserci, non era né buona né di qualità, perché non mettere ingredienti vegetali tipici degli altri gusti delle cartocciate come melanzana fritta, funghi o spinaci? Un po' di fantasia e meno pregiudizio!
Spero di trovare più opzioni e più gusto la prossima volta.

Great vegan options!

So impressed that there are vegan options in CTA airport! We got the Cartocciata Vegana and it was lovely! They also have a vegan croissant.

Good mandarine croissant

The vegan cartocciata is no longer available. I found a vegan mandarine croissant instead there. It’s yummy.

Wow- the vegan ‘cartocciata’ is a 10/10

As a vegan and a local, I’ve got to thank Scirocco for offering such an awesome vegan delicacy!!! If you pass by CT airport, you’ve got to try it! The vegan cheese melts and the bread was so soft 😍🤤 Wish I had taken a second portion honestly. Would give it 5 stars if I could.
