Best vegan carnitas we've ever tasted! - Edit
Cruz Tacos has the best vegan carnitas we have ever had! They are are both perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The seasoning is very flavorful but not overpowering, like most vegan mexican restaurants serve. They are cooked to have crispy edges while still being moist on the inside. Anything with the carnitas as the protein is a good choice.
Read moreThe vegan carne asada is also the best we've tasted. Like the carnitas, the carne asada is not overly seasoned and it has a good texture that might feel a bit too much like meat, but it is pure vegan goodness.
The vegan birria and rolled tacos/taquitos are also worth trying.
The only thing that was just "ok" was the vegan beef, which is made from Beyond crumbles. It is seasoned well, but we're not fans of Beyond, so take that into consideration.
The prices are HIGH, but those vegan carnitas are worth it.
Pros: Great vegan options!
Cons: High prices

You have to order the vegan carnitas tacos and just tear up the salsa bar. Anything with the vegan carnitas was amazing.

Simple Request - Edit
I wanted a simple meal. So I ordered veggie burrito. And I requested for them to hold the cheese. As I was eating my very bland burrito, I discovered cheese in the burrito. So I asked if it was at least vegan cheese and it wasn’t’😤! This is why I don’t like going to non-vegan restaurants. So often they can’t handle simple adjustments. I would’ve given a lower score, but my wife was satisfied with her non-vegan meal.

Disappointed - Edit
Walked in with high expectations of eating vegan. Spoke to the cashier and asked about cross contamination. She said that the fried food is all in one frier. Then she said that vegans don't care about cross contamination. Between there foods and from what I gathered they most likely don't switch their gloves after touching meets either. This place is vegetarian as best but not vegan.

Changed ingredients - Edit
Its extremely disappointing. I used to love their previous meat crumble, it held onto flavor so well. The new vegan meat option is bland.

Vegan tacos, tamales, enchiladas, burritos, quesadilla, taco salads, breakfast bowls and breakfast burritos. Great food, great prices, friendly service. They have a vegan food sign on their front door and a Happy Cow sticker in the middle of the glass where you order.

Amazing Vegan Options - Edit
This is truly a hidden gem to most vegans. I tried this place a few months back and I haven’t slowed down eating the tacos and nachos since. The sauces are amazing great as well. This place is a must try and you won’t be disappointed. Only thing I wish they had were pickled jalapeño but I add them at home.

The owners and staff their are all very friendly and they always warn me that fried items are done in a shared fryer. Definitely try the avocado salsa with whatever you get!

Vegan burrito and quesadilla - Edit
Great vegan food, they have a separate vegan menu. They're salsas were very delicious and spicy, they also have mild salsa. I had the vegan quesadilla, it was delicious, it had veggies, like nopales, zucchini and onions, great flavors. My husband had the vegan burrito, he finished before I could even try it, very good sign. Definitely will come back

Large vegan menu - Edit
Cruz Tacos is my go-to for quick Mexican food. They are family owned and I really like the vibe when I walk in. I was told that the horchata contains dairy, but the other beverages(jamaica, pina, sodas and teas) are all vegan. The kitchen doesn’t have a dedicated vegan fryer so avoid the chips and fried items. My favorite is the vegan burrito, this contains an abundance of veggies, rice and beans as well as vegan beef. It is equally delicious without the vegan beef (my preference is to avoid that sort of stuff). I love the salsa bar with pickled carrots!
