bad times - Edit
recent trip back east someone took me here, they hadn't tried it yet but knew we are vegan.
Read moreThis is NOT what new school vegan baking has evolved to. Vegan baking has come a long way since the 90s and then some, and what they put out here is a step back into bad times and making you think you should be grateful for whatever bad food they give. Flours and powders should NOT pour out of a pastry like grains of sand, not integrated into the batter. Unacceptable!!
No idea how they stay in business with weak samples but having 'vegan' in the name is NO EXCUSE! That was a Philly thing back in the day that saying 'vegan' meant an automatic acceptance in the community. Their vibe is be lucky and take it. Gross all the way around, be better Philly.
Cons: people, pastry, fakers

The BEST - Edit
If you’re looking for the perfect vegan cake, stop right here and order from Crust. I was looking for a vegan bakery in the city and came to Crust. The prices were reasonable and the reviews were nice, so I thought I’d try. I ordered the pistachio and raspberry cake and it is even better than I imagined it would be. The flavors together were delicious! Sweet but not overly so. Very filling, too! I’d also like to mention that the person who helped me at the counter was super nice and friendly. 🖤 Thank you so much for a nice birthday cake and experience. I’ll be back next time!!

Literally everything is delicious - Edit
Any dessert you can possibly imagine, they probably have it here. The cakes are PHENOMENAL. I've gotten some of their cup desserts and chocolates too and they're amazing. And bandit cheese!! My only issue is the prices but they're on par with other vegan places.

Pop tarts!! - Edit
I was in the area and saw this place and couldn’t pass it up! I got a wild berry pop tart (just as neon as my childhood, but much better taste and texture), a danish (so good and flaky for breakfast the next morning), and a slice of funfetti cheesecake. They had lots of great treats for sale, including Lagustas and Go Max Go as well. Masks are still required, which I appreciate, and they have them by the door for a donation

Unexpected delight! - Edit
I didn’t expect to chance upon this bakery while in town but I’m glad I did! I think my favorite out of the 4 things I got was the sugar cookie, reminded me of those ones from the grocery store that I haven’t had since going vegan almost 4 years ago!!

Vegan Bakery in Quaint Town - Edit
We made the stop in after my daughter's discharge from CHOP. She picked out a melted snowman cup, icing and cake layered in a cup. She was very happy with it. I also purchased eggnog coffee cake (delicious!), raspberry matcha cheesecake (about 1.5" of cake with .5" of matcha cheesecake, and a raspberry glazed topping), three cookie sandwiches (delicious, a little harder than my liking but likely needed to make the sandwich.) There were many local products, even some from 3 hours up north where I'm from! COVID precautions made known by clear signage. LGBTQIA friendly.

…when you just need one! Try the chocolate chip tahini cookie or a bagel bomb. Seriously delicious. Love that they have a bunch of local goods, like Conscious Cultures cheeses and oat milk La Colombe canned lattes.

Awesome vegan bakery - Edit
Been a fan of Crust for many years now. Their storefront is cute, thoughtful, and full of yummy baked treats. I’ve been really pleased when I’ve ordered birthday cakes and had them make my wedding cake and desserts. They offer treats for folks with all kinds of tastes. And they care about their team and their community. I love supporting them!

A creative selection of sweet goodies - Edit
We bought a box of assorted cakes, cookies, and slices and I was impressed by the variety and creativity on offer (such as the rosewater and pistachio cookie and the yuzu cookie sandwich). Everything tasted good but personally, I found everything much sweeter than I'm used to. For the sweeter tooth however, this place would be heaven. I really like what they stand for too.

Great bakery during COVID - Edit
I ordered a Mother’s Day Box from Crust Vegan Bakery. They provided great service, and I hope to visit them in person one day. The box contained a pistachio cardamom rose bun, a sausage and cheese biscuit, a slice of cheesecake, two soft frosted sugar cookies, a brookie, and a few chocolate chip cookies. While the rose bun was the favorite for both of us, my mom enjoyed the brookie next, whereas I enjoyed the sugar cookie. This was a great way to sample the bakery’s selection.

This place is incredible! The Brookies are awesome, as is the cinnamon roll. The scones and chocolate chip cookie dough cake were also phenomenal. I love that they give money to social justice causes and are women owned!
