Great location with very little for vegans

Crema’s been an institution in the Kerns neighborhood for a long time, and I’m glad it exists. But I’ve continually been disappointed with how almost none of their food is vegan and they don’t offer non-dairy milks for coffee (though they do for espresso drinks). Unfortunately, this neighborhood has a real dearth of vegan breads and pastries at its cafes, but I hope someday Crema decides to broaden its animal-free offerings.

Cons: No non-dairy milk or creamer for coffee, Very few vegan foods

Friendly place with great outdoor area

I have been coming here for more than 10 years., and would give it 5 stars if there were more vegan options. But - the options they do have (ciabatta bread, banana Bundt cake, sometimes one or two others) are all delicious, the coffee is good, espresso drinks can be made with plant-based milks, and I love the atmosphere. It's a friendly place and a bright, airy space.
Masks are still required and they haven't had indoor seating since March 2020 -- but there is plenty of outdoor seating right outside on Ankeny Street, which is closed to cars. It's been a sanity saver during the pandemic, a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning.

Pros: Friendly, Plenty of outdoor seating

Cons: Limited vegan options

good vibes

I can't speak to the food since I've never ordered any, only coffee. But the ambiance here is nice: lots of seating, and they open the doors to the fresh air when the weather is right. Friendly staff. Good place to sit and work (although the music is sometimes quite loud).

Small Vegan Selection, but Good

I used to work from here a lot when I lived close by. They only had a walnut brownie and a chocolate banana bundt cake (and sometimes soup) that were vegan.

Not many options but they were both great!

They will soon (early 2017) be opening a second spot in the Fair-Haired Dumbbell at the east side of the Burnside Bridge.

Pros: nice atmo + art, good bundt cake, pots of tea

Cons: need more vegan baked goods (savory!), closes at 6pm
