Late night hero. - Edit
CRAVE was there for us after a long, long day of travel. I ordered the vegan CRAVE roll and vegan "traditional" poke bowl. Living in PDX, I've certainly had better sushi and rice/tofu bowls, but for SD, I feel it was sufficient.

Underwhelming Vegan Food - Edit
We used to go to Crave pretty often, came back after a couple years to discover a lot of their vegan options have left the menu and what’s left is overpriced and just ~okay~. Personally, I think the quality has gone down. If you want to make the burger vegan you have to pay extra, and for what you get it’s pretty underwhelming. The service was just fine… considering how much they used to offer, I felt extra disappointed. If you’re looking for a late night nicer dinner spot this is fine. Otherwise, I’d highly recommend Sanaa’s for lunch or Shahi for dinner. The portion sizes are more generous for a lower cost.

Great options in a vegan desert! - Edit
Look, choosing a hotel bar for a meal isn't my favorite idea. However, they have this nice patio and bar overlooking the river and a separate vegetarian and gluten-free menu. Several of the items on this menu are vegan already and many more can be made vegan with listed substitutions that the establishment has noted. We stopped at the bar on a Saturday night an staff were extremely busy but still friendly. The only downside was that our bartender didn't mention they had this separate menu and I'm just finding out now.😒 He did know they had vegan fries so we got those, but we definitely would have ordered more substantial meals had we known we could have.

Make a Reservation for Dinner - Edit
Crave is an oasis given the dearth of vegan options in Sioux Falls. I’ve seen this restaurant attached to hotels in various cities, so believe it may be a hospitality-adjacent chain of sorts.
Read moreBeware though, they may get their knickers all up in a twist over lack of reservation. I scanned the empty dining room and attempted to home in on exactly why the host seemed so put out. I settled on that this must primarily be a dinner place.
Nonetheless, after providing assurances that our table of four could vacate in under an hour and a half, everything was hunky dory and tickety-boo.
I can hereby attest that the sushi was scrumptious. I devoured it while a man tinkled at the piano. And tinkled out of there with 33 minutes to spare.

Several delicious vegan options! - Edit
Crave was a nice find in a part of the country that does not always cater well to vegans and vegetarians. I had the CRAVE Veggie roll - Carrot, spinach, asparagus, cucumber wrapped with avocado, sesame dressing and the veggie roasted beet salad - my only complaint, too much quinoa and not enough beets.

Great spot for dinner - Edit
I was in town staying at the Hilton Garden Inn so I decided to check out Crave since it’s in the hotel. Great spot! I was surprised to see the most amount of vegetarian and vegan options of any restaurant in the Sioux Falls area. I’ll be coming back when I’m in town again.

Good Vegan Options But Missing Minor Details - Edit
Prior to visiting this resaurant, I went to their website and was pleasantly surprised to see that not only did they off vegetarian menu options, they also clearly offer vegan options. I liked that items with VEGAN in the menu titles are 100% vegan and items with the "GO VEGAN" designation are menu items that can be made vegan with noted substitutions.
Read moreAlthough the restaurant is located inside the Hilton Garden Inn, we were easily able to find the restaurant. After looking at the vegetarian/vegan menu options, we ordered vegan truffle Parmesan fries to share, veggie stir fry for me and the Crave veggie burger which is an impossible burger with vegan bacon and fries for hubby.
Since we were in a hurry, we decided to get our food to go and our order was ready in twenty minutes. The vegan truffle parmesan fries had a great balance of vegan parmesan along with what I felt was garlic and was perfectly paired with vegan dipping sauce and ketchup. My veggie stir fry was flavorful as well as seasoned and I appreciated that they customized my dish by adding tofu.
Hubby was a little disappointed that although his burger was supposed to come to with a smoked cheddar cheese slice (either dairy or nondairy,) the burger consisted of the Impossible burger patty, lettuce, vegan bacon and sauce but no cheese. Other that the missing cheese from hubby's burger, we enjoyed our meals but plan to dine inside the restaurant near time we visit as a way for hubby to confirm toppings are added to that food he orders.
Pros: Clearly noted vegan menu titles, Fast food prep time, Able to customize vegan menu items
Cons: Burger ordered missed vegan cheese slice

Crave - Edit
I ordered a vegan pasta dish but they were out of the vegan sauce. Oliver, our waiter, gave me my substitute stir fry for free. How amazing was that. Thank you.

Very good option for omni meal, biz meeting etc - Edit
Located in a hotel, attentive service, clearly marked vegan options. The 'chicken' is just seitan I think but well seasoned and fried to crisp. The Crave rolls were so good too! A little sweet, and very tasty.

Plant based ≠ Vegan - Edit
I was excited to see there was a plant based menu at Crave, but then it was explained to me that plant based = vegetarian, not vegan. There were a few vegan choices, but most of that portion of the menu were vegetarian. I ended up getting the flatbread, truffle fries and sushi. All were quite tasty.

Messed up order - Edit
I ordered the vegan truffle fries and vegan margarita flatbread. The fries I received were for sure vegan, but the flatbread was not. Learned this the hard way after I bit into it. Make sure to very very very clearly specify that you want your food to be vegan.

Out of vegan cake and way too expensive for portion - Edit
The only reason we went was because of the vegan cake and they were out of it at 5:00 🤔. The vegan stir fry was 17.00 and too spicy for my taste. The two vegan rolls were great. The prices we saw online are different than the menu we were given. Don’t think I would come again.

Solid vegan/vegetarian choices - Edit
New vegan/vegetarian choices covering two pages of their long menu. Several different vegan cheeses makes going from a vegetarian order to a vegan one simple, if you like to substitute. Vegan “meats” include chorizo and burgers. Other vegan/veggie offerings include flatbreads with various toppings, “protein” bowls with zucchini noodles, chick peas and bulgar wheat, nachos, and several different sushi offerings, including two complex vegan rolls. Indoor (with giant large screen TV) and covered outdoor seating. Located in the Hilton Garden Inn, but don’t let it put you off. This is a good choice for vegan dining out in Sioux Falls. The hotel is right on the river and the falls are just a short walk away.
