Unique, Tasty, and Healthy Lunch in Nuruyu Onsen Area! - Edit
I heard from a friend that this cafe has a vegan lunch option, and upon inspecting their website I found that it appeared to be true!
Read moreSo, yesterday my husband and I visited the cafe for the first time. We asked if they had vegan food (It wasn't written on the menu) and she said yes! We were served a delicious vegan Galette that was topped with "meatballs" made from oatmeal. It was flavorful and healthy, and just enough food for me.
I also got the homemade ume (plum) soda which had a generous amount of real fruit in it! It was really delicious.
There was a counter with some muffins on it and an empty container that said "vegan muffins". I asked if they had any vegan muffins but she said they were all out. Next time!
The owner is from Kanagawa originally. She moved to this area a few years ago and started this little cafe. It's only open 3 days a week and they aren't open in the winter. But it's nice to have a vegan option in this area even so, and I'm sure we will be back. 😊
Pros: delicious, flavorful galette and ume-soda, cute interior, nice owner
Cons: vegan lunch is not clearly written on the menu, they were out of vegan muffins, The portions might be a bit small for some people
