Several vegan option

There were several vegan options on the menu. I chose the mushroom and ale pie which came with broccoli and a choice of new potatoes or chips. It was tasty although the base was a little under baked. My friend ordered the pea, mint and courgette risotto, which he said was good. The risotto portion wasn't the biggest, whilst my plate had plenty of potatoes. There was a choice of caramelised biscuit cheesecake vegan with ice-cream or vanilla & coconut ice-cream for dessert. We both ordered the cheesecake and agreed it was lovely. We were also offered the 'Lighter bites' menu, sadly aside from a starter and side salad there was nothing on there for us.

When booking the table on-line my friend had indicated it was a birthday celebration. On arriving we were directed to a table with balloons and 'happy birthday' bunting hung above the table.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. There is an option to dine in or out although there's a busy road passing just outside.

This is the second time we have eaten here and I would be happy to return. A few more vegan options would be nice.

Good vegan options, good food

Nice meal for 3 vegans here. 2 had fake fish and chips with mushy peas and vegan mayo. Not sure what the fish was made of but it was nice. One had mushroom pie with new potatoes, veg and gravy. All happy with meals and pints. Approx £40 for 3 meals and 3 pints. Other options included vegan burger, a cottage pie style lentil pie a couple of salads and a few starters. Great.

Pros: Several vegan options, Good value, Dog friendly
