The salsas are vegan suitable as are the non-grilled tortillas, black and pinto beans, vinaigrette and mango dressings, tortilla soup, guacamole. Note that the cilantro lime rice contains dairy, and the roasted green chile sauce and the red enchilada sauce both contain meat stock. Open Mon-Thu 11:00am-9:00pm, Fri-Sat 11:00am-10:00pm. Closed Sun.

Difficult for Vegans to Navigate

To be avoided unless you are at a Costa Vida in a community where there is NOTHING else. In St. George, there are plenty of other options. Their rice is not vegan (butter/milk). Many of their sauces, including the enchilada sauce and green chile sauce are made with chicken. The final straw is that they now fry their chips in beef tallow. If you come here, you can get the black or pinto beans (not refried, though), some lettuce, some guacamole, and you must carefully navigate the sauces. Why bother?

Pros: Can eek out a meal if you must

Cons: Beef tallow to fry chips, Lard in refried beans, Butter/milk in rice

Fresh and delicious

I’m gluten free and vegetarian and my husband is vegan. We found great options here for fresh, quick serve.

Pros: Unique flavors, Salsa, guacamole, romaine lettuce very fresh., Clean, helpful staff

Friendly staff are happy to help you make a vegan meal

Costa vida is a good place to come if you’re willing to explain what you do and don’t eat. My favourite order is the salad with beans, no rice (rice has butter unfortunately), no meat, lettuce, tortilla strips, guacamole, pico and mango salsa, no cheese, with the mango salsa being the star of the show. The food is fresh and tasty, and around the same price as Chipotle. I just wish you could get vegan rice!

Pros: Staff happy to accommodate , Mango salsa!

Cons: Rice isn’t vegan
