Worst experience at a restaurant EVER, and I'm not exaggerating - Edit
My family was so excited to try out Cosmic Treats, unfortunately we had probably the worst dinning experience of our lives. We ordered that fried mac n cheese balls as an app and they looked and tasted like the fryer oil hadn’t been changed in weeks. We ordered the dorito encrusted tofu, sausage and peppers sandwhich and the spaghetti and meatballs for my daughter. We upgraded sides on 2 of the entrees to fried cheese sticks and jalapeño poppers. The fried cheese sticks were gross with gummy daiya in it’s most liquid form melted in the middle. When I expressed my distaste for the cheese sticks the waitress replied “yeah it’s vegan cheese, that’s why” which since I am vegan, I took offense to, because vegan cheese doesn’t have to be gross. I requested to swap the side of sticks for the jalapeño poppers (or should I say popper because the portion was exactly one jalapeño popper cut into slices and fried for an extra $3) the waitress said I could get the poppers but I would have to pay for the cheese sticks that I didn’t like and only ate 1 of and then pay an additional $3 for the poppers. Needless to say I did not order another $3 jalapeno. We had ordered my 4 year old daughter the spaghetti and meat balls. When it arrived she had one bite and told us that it was “too spicy” I tried for myself and the tomato sauce was extremely spicy even for me. The waitress knew we were ordering this dish for a child and never mentioned the level of spice. When I told the waitress that it was too spicy and asked her to take it back she told us that “they can’t take the spice out of the sauce so I don’t know what you want me to do.” I asked if we could get some noodles with just earth balance and the veggie balls. She came back about 15 minutes later saying that the kitchen could do plain noodles with earth balance and no veggie balls for $4. We said that was fine because we had finished our entrees by then and our daughter had been picking off our plates and was very hungry. The waitress then asked us if we wanted the other spaghetti and meatballs boxed up to go because “you still have to pay for it.” I was floored. I have never been treated so badly at a restaurant. I asked to speak to the manager and she told me that “we don’t really have a manager.” We had planned to order a few desserts but my daughter still hungry and we were so disgusted with our experience that we left and went to Bunners to get something for her to eat and a soft serve cone. I will NEVER be going b

circuselliot 08 Nov 2016 - Hello. This is Elliot, the owner of Cosmic Treats. I’m very sorry you had a disappointing experience at the restaurant. We do look at all feedback that we receive so we can figure out how to improve upon the food and service that we provide. I have spoken with all of my staff about when to contact myself when a manager is not available and a customer would like to speak with someone in charge about any aspect of their experience, which we certainly should have done in your case. I am also looking into the other feedback that you provided for opportunities to implement new, or improve upon existing, policies and procedures. Again, my sincere apologies.

Delicious desserts! - Edit
My sister and I managed to find this place after a whole day of eating at vegan restaurants/cafes and were really full, but couldn't resist getting something while we were there! We shared the chocolate peanut butter cheesecake (it's so lovely and dense, you will die) and the cookie bottom brownies (so good and the only reason I ate it in two sittings was because I was so dead from the day of eating vegan junk). I definitely want to come back when possible to try everything else on the menu!
Pros: Very good desserts
Cons: A little expensive but hey, it's good

Best Vegan Ice cream - Edit
Recently visited in search of vegan ice cream that actually tastes good and brought non-vegan friends. The ice cream was really amazing, tasted incredible, if I didn't already know it was vegan, i wouldn't be able to tell the difference! I will definitely return to try the other non dessert items.
Pros: friendly atmosphere, amazing desserts

So yummy! - Edit
I went here and got a scoop of their cashew-based chocolate ice cream and went back late to get a chocolate cupcake! They were both a little pricey, but absolutely delicious. My boyfriend who's a non-vegetarian even thought my ice cream tasted like real ice cream. The cupcake was so rich and chocolatey. I am looking forward to coming here again!
Pros: Delicious, Good selection, All vegan
Cons: Pricey

fabulous food - Edit
We stumbled upon Cosmic Treats and what a great surprise...i don't leave reviews often but wanted to give a five star because of the delicious food, relaxed ambience and attentive service, even though they were very busy. I ate the southern fried tofu with bbq sauce. It was crispy, not at all greasy and perfectly seasoned. The banana bread cashew nut ice cream was smooth deliciousness ...would come back all the time if I lived here...

Amazing ice cream and desserts in Kensington - Edit
Cosmic Treats' desserts are delicious. They have numerous flavors of ice cream and frozen yogurt (all vegan) with lots of available toppings. You can of course make the ice cream into sundaes or milkshakes (with booze, if you so choose). They have cookies, brownies, and cakes that are great too.
The savoury menu has very tasty food, but it isn't exactly healthy (though this certainly isn't the purpose of the restaurant!). I also find some of the items a bit too salty, though I am not one for salty food.
All in all, I think Cosmic Treats is a wonderful place. It's in a good location, the staff is very friendly, and it's really nice to have a fully vegan ice cream place in the city :)
Pros: vegan ice cream, delicious desserts, friendly staff
Cons: unhealthy savoury food

Quite good and generous - Edit
The space is simple a little cold. All in white, modern. But the food was all right. I had a vegan chicken hot pie with a soup. And a kombucha. I was super full. 20$ all together. Server was nice and welcoming.

disappointing for dinner - Edit
3 of us went to their new years even prix fixe dinner. We were very disappointed.
The appetizer was crackers and pate. the crackers were all out of a box, rice crackers, tortilla chips. the nut pate was quite bland but not awful. I think if they had made the pate half the size and added a homemade vegan spreadable cheese then this would have been a better experience. The entree was the real disappointment. They offered beef bourguignon. This dish was over 80% just white rice with no flavoring to it. no spices, herbs or sauces- bland, bland, bland . The mock beef itself also had no spicing or flavoring to it and was very bland and there was only a tiny amount of it. For veggies they had exactly 3 green beans on each place and one small broccilli sprig. This dish would have been more tasty and healthful if they had cut the rice down by at least half, flavored it and tripled they amount of green veggies, and made a vegan protein with some flavor to it. for $30 you expect to eat more than bland white rice for your entree. The desserts were both very good and that is what the two stars are from . I think that this restaurant specializes in desserts and that is what you should go there for. They also offer lots of commercial vegan candy for takeaway. And they did serve us quickly. It was not very busy. The servers were nice.
Maybe their lunch, brunch food is better though. I have not tried this.
Pros: great desserts, green veggies steamed nicely, food served quickly
Cons: entree really bland and starchy, hardly any green veggies, expensive for the quality of the dinner

Everything was wonderful - Edit
The only part of dining here that I didn't like was having to choose something! Everything on the menu sounded amazing. Wait staff was very sweet and attentive, atmosphere is great, coffee was great.

Out of this world ;) - Edit
We have been here twice since it opened and have sampled a good chunk of their offerings. Delicious and fun! Love that there are so many options, not only having the one vegan ice cream flavour to choose from. They have some of the dreamiest cashew ice cream I've ever had and some really interesting flavours like birthday cake (try it!) and Turkish coffee. If you are splitting with someone then try the banana split for sure (great date night treat). While the focus is really on the sweets here, the savoury items are worth trying as well and they have the same fun vibe with items like Doritos crusted tofu. A welcomed addition to the neighbourhood and we will be back again for sure!
Pros: so many choices , really fun and creative sweets

Cute resto - Edit
One might think this was only a dessert and fun drinks place, but there are also fabulous mains, too. We really liked the deep fried cheese appetizer and the dorito crusted tofu as a main. They also have an epic cookie-brownie hybrid. We will be back.

Just what Toronto needed! - Edit
I am a vegan in Toronto. I've had amazing cashew ice cream in NYC, and a phenomenal vegan ice cream milkshake in Chicago, but have always found our vegan ice cream selection lacking. Until now.
Cosmic Treats is just what Toronto needed. It has a diner-ish feel, but in a more up-to-date style. The staff was super nice and let me sample different ice cream flavours. We (ok, I - my husband's order was for me) had a scoop of cookie dough ice cream and a cookies n' cream milkeshake. The ice creams are vegan, cashew-based, creamy and delicious.
There was plenty of seating and unique items I've not seen elsewhere in the city, like toppings such as vegan marshmallows.
Cosmic Treats was really a treat and I hope others support it so it sticks around.
Pros: Cashew ice cream - unique for Toronto, Delicious, Friendly staff
