Great vegan food in Funchal - Edit

We had a dinner here after few weeks spending in Madeira. This place was a good choice for vegans!! We had four different meals and they were all beatiful. They tasted good and had simple good flavours. The kids liked them too. We usually share our meals together, so we all got a bit of every portion. We took desserts for the kids (yes, dessert in Madeira) and they had only one portion left of the pudding that was mentioned on the list. But, they had got vegan pannacotta with different kind of berries...and this was so gooooood. Our youngest kid loved it! The pudding from the list was also quite okay, but would have needed some extra syrup etc to make it not so dry. Nice atmosphere and we were so happy to get eat without explainings about veganism.

Pros: Vegan pannacotta , Simple good tastes

Lovely place - Edit

The pumpkin and coconut pudding is to die for!
The braised tofu main dish was also excellent.
A lovely restaurant located in Funchal's old town, with seating both inside and out, helpful staff and excellent service.

Pros: Excellent food, Helpful staff, Nice location

Great little place with great vegan options! - Edit

Such a great place. I told the lady that I'm Vegan and I didn't need to say no more. She acknowledged it and shown me the options through the menu (like taking things off or adding on) which was almost half of the menu. I felt at eased here. Great to have somewhere who know what to do. The lady was so friendly and made sure I was comfortable. The food was very nice - cauliflower and sweet potato soup and vegetable fajitas with wedges and Vegan dessert!!! (see photos for all three) :) highly recommended!

Excellent for vegans! - Edit

The menu for both vegetarians and meat eaters was small. But this was by no means a problem. About 50% of the menu was suitable for vegetarians. When the waitress arrived, my partner asked what was suitable for a vegan, and she talked through all the vegetarian options and how they could be made vegan if needed which was great. What I ordered did come with cheese, (although by preference I would rather not eat cheese) when it arrived she had spoken to the chef and he had replaced the cheese with potatoes (which I personally thought was better!). It was a small gesture but it was really appreciated. She also advised on what we could have as a starter (the garlic bread came with olive oil). The restaurant does sell vegan dessert, but as we had arrived pretty early the pudding had not set. The waitress again did have a solution for my partner and the chef made him a beautiful fruit salad. The only downside was the service was slow (there is only the waitress and the chef working there) but the food was worth the wait!! Also - it should be noted the restaurant doesn't open until 6
