non il massimo, ma buono / not the top, but good - Edit

Very nice and central "fast-food" restaurant, with very fast and friendly service.
Great location in one corner of piazza Vittorio.
I really love "freeco" appetizer but I don't like their desserts.

Pros: freeco appetizer

Great Italian food! - Edit

I don't understand some of the negative comments left here as I had lunch at Coox's and absolutely loved it.
I tried the "Freeco" which was amazing with an overwhelming cheese flavour.
Being in Italy I also had to try the lasagna and they were freaking good with bechamel and everything!
The chocolate cheesecake for desert was a bit "heavy" but still good.
The staff was really nice and the atmosphere cosy.
We even had some "croissants" to take away for our breakfast and they were beyond my expectations (especially the "carbon" one)

Pros: Good food, Traditional cuisine, Location

Cons: No amareto available for a drink!

frozen food presented nicely - Edit

Nice staff, environment, price seems reasonable. But it's clear that the food is not made in house. With not much time in Torino, there is no reason to go here with so much great, homemade food out there.

Pros: Staff, Environment

Cons: Frozen food

Great food, but.... - Edit

So the food here was great, as close to truely 'authentic' italian whilst remaining vegan as I've seen in Turin. The service was fast and friendly and the location was great.

But it all felt just so... clinical. The restaurant is a franchise, and it feels it. It was a bit too clean and precise; it lacked the charm and warmth of atmosphere of other restaurants in the city, something I didn't even realise was important to me until now.

The food was tasty but lacked the 'soul' of other restaurants in the city, that intangible something that lifts it to another level.

Don't, however, feel put off from going there. You will still have a good meal there, it just won't blow your socks off.

Pros: Great food

Cons: A bit too clinical, lacked an individual charm.

Lovely food + location - Edit

As a vegan you very often miss out on eating in typically touristy areas but here you can enjoy your food in one of the nicest squares in Turin. The man who served us was very friendly. We thought it was quite pricey but have realised most exclusively vegan places are overpriced so the price here is fair. We had two starters, a beer (too expensive but maybe we hit given an expensive one) two mains and one dessert for 45 euros. I'd skip the beer and share a starter if you're on a budget or mix and match some of the smaller dishes- the ratatouille looked divine. Also all Mains and starters were served with some green salad which was more than welcome. Oh and the tiramisu was so good and big enough to share

Pros: Location, Price , Staff

Cons: Expensive beer

Confused... but nice dessert! - Edit

I was a little disappointed by Coox. I wanted to go to lots of vegan restaurants in Turin and this was one so I tried it. It was in August, and if I remember correctly my mum had seitan meatballs - the portion was tiny but they were filling. My dad had the cheesy freeco (as recommended by a previous Happy Cow review) and it was a bit boring. Nice enough but not amazingly special! He then had a curry/stew thing which was very dull, the flavour was just like curry powder. He also ordered what we expected to be fries but ended up being actual crisps, which was a bit disappointing when we wanted proper chips! I had the low-calorie pasta, which was a strange texture and the mushroom sauce was bland. HOWEVER, the saviour of this evening was the AMAZING panna cotta, which I would recommend going to coox for! It was huge and amazingly delicious... YUMMY!

Pros: good for vegans, heavenly panna cotta

Cons: a bit weird/pricey for what you get

Fine vegan dining in a great location - Edit

Location was what most attracted us to this place. Most of the seating was outdoors bordering an expansive piazza overlooking the river and hills beyond.
It was the dining experience that settled its position. The staff have a working grasp of English which helped a lot. Fine dining is hard to come by on the vegan diet but this place was wonderful. We had two courses followed by dessert. By the end we had to take an hour long walk to work it off!

Pros: location , fine dining, English speaking staff

Cons: a little pricey

Amazing Food! - Edit

this is a great place, it feels and looks like it will be expensive but it's not. I got the tempeh for 7.50, the service is so fast I hardly had time to sit down but the food sill tastes great not sure how they do it!

Pros: Great food, Friendly staff, Inexpensive

Cons: none

Best Panna Cotta Ever - Edit

Had a lovely dinner here with my boyfriend a few nights ago- great food, great service, friendly staff, patient with beginner Italian, pleasant environment, reasonable prices. Do yourself a favor and order the panna cotta for dessert! Honestly one of the best vegan desserts I've ever had.

Pros: variety of choice, quality of food, friendly staff

TIRAMISU! - Edit

So good! We had excellent service despite turning up half an hour before closing. I had a lasagne which was nothing special but anything is good when you're hungry, but the tiramisu was out of this world. Try it!

Pros: Excellent desserts!

Try the Freeco! - Edit

Friendly staff! The creamy dishes are done so well you wouldn't know they were vegan unless you were told. After a tasty lunch I had to come back here for dinner. The Freeco starter is so moreish I cannot recommend it enough; I didn't think I would taste something so cheesy ever again since turning vegan.

Pros: All vegan fine cuisine

Fab food in a great location! - Edit

Delighted with the food we had at Coox. The staff are super nice, great variety on the menu. everything that we ordered was delicious.

The filo pastry pie, parmagiana and tiramisu were absolutely like traditional taste. you can easily fool a non vegan into eating most dishes here as vegetarian. ;)

Pros: amazing options, great value for money

Fantastic! - Edit

We ate at Coox this week and were wowed. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and reasonably priced.
We had a luscious eggplant parmaggiano that was to die for because it was super light, really eggplanty tasting, and silky smooth and creamy. The lasagna was similarly rich and luscious. Ratatouille was roasted until all the sweetness of the peppers came out. We also had some delicious seitan with tomato sauce. The dessert was a chocolate cake with apricot filling. The chocolate didn't taste as amazing as we were expecting, but the apricot filling was to die for. It was syrupy and a little tart, so it oozed out from between the layers of cake when we cut into it. Super yum!

Pros: Food quality, presentation, flavor, Nice staff, Quiet, classy casual vibe

Cons: None

Aie !

fabuolus & tasty - Edit

I was this evening at Coox, the menu is very rich with typical dishes of the Italian tradition such as lasagna and parmesan.
Mediterranean flavors and not only also excellent soups and vegetables. There are also the typical dishes from fast food like sandwiches very tasty.
Excellent desserts that have nothing to envy to no vegan desserts.
possibility to take away, perfect for those in a hurry or want to taste the dishes at home.
Orders at the table, polite and attentive waiters.
I will definitely return, very recommended!

Pros: varied menu, nice local, Piazza Vittorio scenic

Cons: barely visible from the street

Pros: Location, Attentive staff, Vegan and ethical

Cons: food, confusing, clarity

Pretty good food - Edit

Like the previous reviewer, this was an accidental find and it was nice to see a veg. place in a central/touristy area.

The place itself is a little odd, it's styled as healthy fast-food(-ish), but there is a bit of a problem with some of the menu items, since a few of them appear to have whimsical names leaving you to try to figure out what exactly they are from the photos. In fairness, the girl serving at the cash desk was very helpful, but it still felt a little strange/confusing.

We ordered lasagne which was as expected and quite good, and also "Cow Boy" which appeared to be a type of veggie burger on the menu, but turned out to be a bean plate (?). It was also good though.

The portion sizes could have been a little larger, but they were relative to the price. If you just ordered one, it may not be enough if you're hungry.

Pros: Tasty food, good selection, Good location

Cons: Menu descriptiveness a bit lacking, Slightly small portions

Good intentions but a little bit disappointing - Edit

I was very excited when I came across this place, because it was one of those "accidental" vegan finds. I decided to have lunch there and went for a burger with chips.
The whole experience felt very much like a concept rather than a nice environment to eat. I am sure everything has been very well thought through, but the place misses a personal touch and some spirit.
The burger itself was tasty, but not very memorable, I had much better vegan burgers...

Pros: Location, All vegan

Cons: Not cosy, Food was average
