Me and my significant other just left Cool Al’s and I am telling you, if you’ve never been here you must come and check it out!!! We will be back for sure! I wish there were more places like this everywhere! They really do create an awareness for plant based foods. So so happy this place exists. You will leave FULL and SATISFIED!!!

Serves the Impossible Burger!! - Edit
I had never heard of the Impossible Burger from Impossible Meats, but saw it on the menu as an upgrade so I took the chance. Boy what a treat!!! It's a bit pricey but it was so delicious.

Incredible vegan food in Jackson! - Edit
Jackson, Mississippi is not the most vegan-friendly area. I was here for an interview and was recommended by a fellow vegan to check out Cool Al's. The vibe is a delicious "hole in the wall" with incredible food. They do serve meat but the entire menu is veganized, so anything that they offer in a meat option they also offer in a vegan option (including cheeses, sauces, etc). The menu and sheer number of vegan options is actually almost daunting! They have vegan "Italian sandwiches", vegan shrimp, vegan grilled chicken subs, impossible burgers etc. I created my own burger which was INCREDIBLE complete with vegan smoked gouda, vegan bacon, BBQ sauce, avocado, caramelized onion, and vegan sourdough bun. On the side I got portobello mushroom fries (no potato) with their "special sauce" (vegan) and it was absolutely unbelievable. The staff is warm and friendly, super helpful, and nice. Vegans in Jackson visit here regularly. I would highly recommend it to anyone who lives in Jackson or anyone just visiting. It is not a fast-food joint so definitely allow 20-30 minutes for your food to be prepared, but trust me - its well worth the wait!!!

Fantastic food, but the place is a total dump - Edit
I had to close my eyes while waiting for our food because the restaurant was so rundown and filthy that I couldn't find a *single* place to rest my eyes that didn't make me want to flee and call the health department. We canceled plans to meet friends there the following day because it was just too awful to take people to. Sticky floors, holes in the drywall, crumbs on the tables, black something on the ceiling, smears and stains in every direction.

Everything we tried was the best we'd ever had: fried chicken, bacon blue cheese burger fried green tomatoes, shrimp po-boy (all vegan, of course).
Waits were long, and our takeout order was messed up, making for an extra wait. Go for the food — it's really that good — but expect little else.

I am the owner of this restaurant. We are not fine dining and that is not and never has been our goal. We are not rundown or filthy. It was extremely busy the week you visited us and we had a tough time clearing tables. The issues you brought up are cosmetic and do not relate to food safety whatsoever. Your description was greatly exaggerated. We maintain an A. rating with the health department and follow every single statute to a T. Again I want to emphasize your concerns are cosmetic and do not affect food safety or food preparation. Our greatest care, concern, and passion is the best vegan food possible and food safety. A blemish on the wall does not have any bearing on food safety or quality of the end product.

I want to start by saying that it’s unfortunate that 5 star ratings only apply to full vegan or vegetarian restaurants. This restaurant with its large amount of vegan and vegetarian options in Jackson Mississippi deserves 6 stars.

Being in Jackson being only vegan would have its challenges. But yet Cool Al’s still
Offers more vegan options than almost anywhere else I’ve ever been!
When I bring my non vegan and vegetarian friends they are always blown away at how good the vegan options are!
The staff is always extremely friendly and the price is way better than most places in town. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Delicious vegan food in Jackson! - Edit
Cool Al’s offers countless vegan options and really promotes their vegan fare! The staff were friendly and informative. I was very pleased that they use separate grill and frying oil when preparing their vegan dishes. I highly recommend and will definitely be going back! I’m so pleased to have this wonderful restaurant in my home town.

Amazing Food and Great Service - Edit
I travel a lot and like to visit as many places with vegan dishes as i can. I tried their cooked vegan steak cauliflower chicken and their vegan chicken wings with an order of truffle fries and the impossible burger. Everything was delicious and the im strongly reccomending if your in the area to stop by or make a trip out. My only wish is that they could feature some pressed juices or low sugar beverage options like unsweetened ice tea. I didn't happen to see anything like that when i was there so my apologies if it was. The food is heavily seasoned and thats a good thing its what i was hoping and came for, it just made me really thirsty is all. I hope i can come back soon and try their vegan seafood platter. It looked delicious and ive never had vegan oysters before so next time i'll have to try those.

Amazing burger - Edit
My first time here and I’m definitely going back. The menu makes it difficult to chose because there’s just so many options. I ordered a vegan burger with mushrooms, onion, vegan bacon, and vegan pepper jack, and a side of eggplant French fries. It was the most amazing burger I can ever remember eating.

Cool Al's great Vegan food. The best vegan burgers you've ever eaten. His burgers are original and unique based on the travels he has taken with his wife Kim and their 2 children. Take my word for it. Al is a great cook! He wears Funky uniforms too! You won't be sorry I promise. Your stomach will thank you will every bite. Try them out and I know you'll be back for more!
