This is one of my "go to" places to eat in Whitianga. Since my last review, they have added the vegan pumpkin taco to their menu. My most recent visit was last Friday with my granddaughter and her parents. We were welcomed and seated inside as the weather wasn't exactly tropical. The food was great, with generous servings. I had the vegan burrito this visit and the vegan pumpkin taco on the visit before that.
Visited at 4pm for a late lunch/early dinner. The waitress came over when we were ready to order to advise us the chef refused to cook anything but tacos as he wanted to save the food for their dinner service. Only two vegan options (one was tacos) and a few vegetarian options. We left due to the terrible service and took the ferry to blue ginger (which had great service and a plant based menu option)
Not too many vegan options this side of the ferry crossing so were pleased to find Cooked! The vegan version of the burrito had vegan cheese and roasted purple broccoli which was delicious! Homemade guacamole was also very good.
