Serves meat, vegan options available. A bar, but also a slow food restaurant during lunch hours. Uses local products and all are organic. Has a changing vegan lunch dish, dinner with choices including falafels, vegan plancha, tofu paté, and vegan croque-monsieur, plus brunch on weekends with vegan tofu "eggs." Reported no longer serves meals as of Nov '22, ask about drinks and snacks. Removed August 2024: Limited vegan options.

They offer a very good selection of belgian beers, they know each of them so can really give you advice to choose one.

Contrebande has a great selection of beers. The atmosphere is nice and they have a lovely terrace when the weather allows it.

But the main reason to come to Contrebande is the beer selection, not the food :)

Disappointed - no vegan croque monsieur - Edit
Lively place with a nice patio for outdoor dining, but we went specifically for the vegan croque monsieur and it was no longer being offered. We ordered some appetizers (a decent hummus and frites) and went somewhere else for dinner.

Great beer and atmosphere - Edit
Very nice, casual, bar with friendly staff. Has outdoor seating in a lovely courtyard. The beer selection featured some rare Belgian limited releases. The Vegan Croque-Monsieur sandwich was excellent.
