Wow!, we haven't been very active here on HappyCow, but we are happy to announce that we have partnered with a few venues in downtown Ensenada, these places help us distribute our vegan pastry goods and we will hopefully soon offer meals as well 🐰💚

Amazing Hidden Vegan Gem!!!

You walk into a small cafe and ask about vegan food, a delightful chef pop in from around the corner and offers her specials of the day. My father (vegetarian junk food addict) and I (vegan health food addict) had amazing soy lattes from the shop, then veggie ceviche, chillaquilles, salad, veggies and hummus, a delicious sandwich on homemade flatbread and zucchini spaghetti! Everything was amazing and we highly recommend it! Dad said it’s the best vegan meal he ever had!

Pros: Healthy , Vegan, Friendly

Hop Over to Conejo Rojo

This lil’ gem of a restaurant is worth the hunt.
First, lemme explain how to get there so one needn’t ask in horrendous Spanish where, “el restaurante de vegano” is. Conejo Rojo is located in Plaza Villa Mexicana (an older, but adorable plaza that young entrepreneurs have taken over) stay to outside the plaza on the sidewalk, walk to the furthest east end of the plaza, turn right, and walk about a block. Then there is a wooden sign hanging that reads something like, “Organic,” blah, blah—it’s a cafe, but Conejo Rojo serves their food within this restaurant. Ask for a menu at the counter.

Okay now for my review...The service is very timely and friendly. The food is so fresh and so delicious. I ate there twice I had ceviche (both times) and a roasted poblano chile pepper with garbanzo bean “cheese” burrito (once). The portions were perfect, the taste was exceptional and the price was unbelievably cheap! I cannot recommend this place enough if you find yourself in Ensenada!

Pros: Taste , Location , Price
